According to Joseph Duarte (Houston Beat Writer Houston Chronicle) He posted this on his twitter page.

‘Houston radio station ESPN 97.5 FM says Memphis football team has 20-plus players test positive for Covid-19, speculates Sept. 18 game against Houston may be in doubt“

Gianatto now says on 92.9 that it’s 20 players in 10 day isolation. At least another 20 in quarantine for 14 days due to contact tracing.
92.9 says bad info. Not true.

Wouldn’t be a surprise for it to happen to any team any time

It is always best to state sources and if your source will not be indentified for some reason....get to work and find a named source. As an example, in this case, before reporting this on the Houston station, the station should have had someone call someone in authority at the U of M (probably the SID) and state "I have this source that states that the U of M has 20 known cases of Covid on the football team. Is this true and can you comment on it? We need to hear your opinion on it's reliability." Journalism 101. If it is proven not to be true...the Houston station is putting out FAKE NEWS that could have easily been checked out. Unfortunately, this happens a lot today. You would think the GM or Program Director at the station would come down hard on whomever was responsible for this bogus story...if in fact it is proven to be fake. The credibility of the station is at stake and coming off so amateurist in a top 10 market is sad. So, whenever you see a story on the Cable TV or TV news channel that states something without a named source, the first thing to ask yourself is "Am I supposed to believe that this reporter is so lazy that he could not find a single named source to verify this story?" I mean NO ONE of twenty people who should have been contacted will verify it is true? This Houston station is owned by GOW MEDIA which is a local Houston company and not one of the major chains like IHeartMedia, Cumulus or Entercom. So maybe they just don't care about what they put out over the air.
Man gotta give Dana credit for this one but sorry Dana, you still have to come to memphis next Friday to get your ass whipped. Ain’t no rona gonna stop this train
It would be a surprise if there were no positives. But there are a lot of football players on a team . Only one poster here tracked down this info. Last game had missing players, but we know the main reason Broussard didn’t play.

6 Kayode Oladele DL
7 John Tate IV DL
9 John Broussard Jr. DB
12 La'Andre Thomas DB
16 Nehemiah Augustus ILB
21 Jashon Watkins-Perkins DB
28 Terryen Collins DB
29 Carlito Gonzalez DB
32 Jacobi Francis DB

40 Thomas Pickens LB
47 Miles Ingram DB
52 Matthew Rhodes LB
59 Chandler Stump LB
63 Johnny Westbrook DL
93 Meonta Kimbrough DL
96 Trevis Hopper DL
92.9 in Memphis owned by ENTERCOM. I would trust them more to have done their homework and really checked the story out. The same homework that the Houston station could have and should have done.

So what is this list? Known Covid cases or players that did not dress out for the Ark State game? What exactly is this list?

One was shot.
Three were “insinuated” by Silverfield to be positive.
A couple of minor but normal injuries.
A few contact tracking.

This normal for this year... if it’s true at all.
According to the CA. It’s true. Just reported. Due to a “Party Bus” most players attended after the Arkansas State game
Party bus excellent

o well

Maybe doing some contact tracing at southland. If true and Houston has enough to play we should have to forfeit.
Jonah Jordan backtracking now. Not good. Honestly, if Houston had done something stupid like get on a party bus, we would be saying to play the damn game.

If I were the coach I'd hold them out longer as punishment for doing something so dumb.
