Phillips, Sims, Pridgen, Boggs, Steere would be a pretty formidable lineup.

I would interpret it differently - that Siddle thinks he has every piece in place in Wilmington right now that he needs to compete for a CAA Championship
this year.
It's a gamble with the covid craziness. But what team in the CAA couldn't the team we saw play on Saturday - plus Boggs, Steere, and Pridgen, and Phillps (not to mention Carr) - beat?

Another potential way to look at this is in combination of a mindset of “let’s go get this now”, it seems logical also when taking into account Coach Siddle’s confidence in recruiting more studs in the future. Not saying you can recruit over Pridgeon, but that he will recruit better players that will match with him and follow him.

I need to see how college football finishes before I'd make that bet. I know they moved the tourney to one location. Was thinking through the logistics of all those games in one place, how the heck are they going to make it happen?

My bet is based upon $$. No way they are going to leave that on the table two years in a row.
I think the NCAA has already granted a free year of eligibility to players in the winter sports so if you don't have to and aren't injured there is not much of a benefit to red-shirting this year. If Pridgen can get a waiver, it seems like there really isn't a drawback to have him play.

Agreed. Plus imagine telling your “toughest player” there is a reasonable chance you could play this year but let’s sit you out to better sustain the talent level of our program. Best to see all your pieces in live action now imo. Kid could easily leave if we passed on the opportunity to get him eligible.

I don't think you would ever mandate such a thing. It would be a discussion between the player and coach about pluses and minuses. Sounds like the NCAA waiver negates the negative, which may have made the decision easy.
Bottom line, if Pridgen gets that waiver and can go this year... that greatly improves our team NOW.
After reading through all the input so far, I'm hoping it happens.

I wasn't aware of a waiver for this year. I know a waiver was granted for some spring sports last year.
