It seems to me that a state of emergency now exists for William and Mary athletics.

There is a vision being pursued by Administrators. Regardless of whether you are high information, or low information, the specifics of the vision have been, are, and will likely continue to be, closely held.

That is not the proper way to run a public institution. This is not a northeast private liberal arts school.

Furthermore, as the vision begins to be implemented, our own people are casualties. Fellow members of the Tribe. Male. Female. Young. Old. Liberal. Conservative. Students. Alumni. Athletes all.

For decades, our fellow athletes were welcomed by our school. Yesterday, they were un-welcomed. Yesterday, they were told that their particular skill set would no longer be accepted at our school. In a sense, they were out-sourced. In a sense, they were told that other student athletes, in other sports, had greater value.

It is time for the Tribe Club to take a stand, and say “no” to this.

It is time for the fellow student athletes whose sports were spared to take a stand, and say “no” to this.

It is time for all donors to take a stand, and say “no” to this.

It is time for all athletic alumni to take a stand, and say “no” to this.

It is time for the “big bucks” donors to take a stand, and say “no” to this.

We are losing our school, and what made it so unique.

Shut it all down. Refuse to play. Refuse to donate. Take back your pledges. Refuse to attend.

Demand that this issue be re-visited, and that all constituent groups have a seat at the table.
They will NEVER refuse to play because other student-athletes were told this year will be their last. It would take something like racial discrimination or sex abuse to get our student-athletes to stand up to leadership.

Two weeks ago I received a refund of my seat license and football tickets.
I took a good portion of the money and donated it back to the Tribe Club and got a company match. I knew they had financial needs this year and wanted to help out.
Now I'm a bit sorry that I gave them the funds.
Just emailed President Rowe and Director Huge.

The Tribe Club is the fundraising arm of the Athletic Department. It is not a voice for supporters, fans, alums, athletes, etc.

And is totally hamstrung by our current administration.
