Sure its self-serving but he's right, right?

I’m sure if he was still working in the PAC 12 he’d be singing a different tune
The majority of the PAC 12 players do not think it is safe to play. I only see a small loud mouth spoil brat players in the Big 10 want to.

If the school you are attending doesn’t offer a sport it seems way wrong to tell a student they can not leave and play else where. I guess you could keep believing in the spring football ruse.

David, I can't tell, but do you think college football should not be played this Fall?

I agree. You signed on with the understanding that you would play fall football. The B1G and PAC have essentially terminated the agreement.

They also signed on with the understanding they would attend class and maintain a certain GPA. The players have been ignoring that one for years.

I agree, but, flip a coin. Yeah, the kids forget that one, but, schools let it get this far.

Yes, enforcing GPA and class attendance is the school's responsibility.

So your saying the schools violated that end of the contract too. 05-stirthepot
If the season in cancelled I don’t see why they wouldn’t get a waiver
Has there ever been a coach both loathed and loved at the same time?

Yeah, but more so, it’s schools bringing in kids who have no basis of being there. It’s also, at best, having football operations run with the athletes as contractors. I’m recruited, told I’m a big deal, but am never meant to feel safe in my spot. I have to go where’s best for me. The schools fail on those fronts.

Yes. Of course, covidoids will say the season has just been "postponed" to the Spring, not canceled.

But even if so, surely the draft implications and the drastic nature of a shift from Fall to Spring should be grounds for immediate transfers with no penalty from Fall non-playing to playing schools.

Funny that some of the most vocal posters here in favor of athlete's rights are suddenly backing the canceling conferences on this.

But, nobody ever aspected that there is a very deadly pandemic going around. So, nobody broke any contracts.

It doesn't matter what the cause of the Fall season cancellation is, if your school cancels football because Martians are landing and yet other schools are still playing, you should be able to transfer to the playing schools.

And really, why would the B1G or PAC resist this? They're not playing, so why should they be allowed to hold the athletes hostage to their covid policy?

Exactly - to me this is quite cut and dry.
