1. You actually see things other than the Pandemic (and even non-Trump items) on the top of Google News.
2. Popular bars and restaurants are filled.

Dropped my son off at Auburn last week. While there weren't many students, I only saw one with a mask the whole time there.

Was touring my daughter's cross-town campus. Almost everyone was wearing masks, even outside, but they were gathering in big groups. Afterwards, we stopped at a big Mexican restaurant, Pappasitos, for carryout. Parking lot was even more crowded than normal. Cars backed up onto the street to turn in. People lined up out of the door to get in. As we drove home we passed a restaurant/bar district. Every bar and strip club's parking lot was full.

It doesn't matter what you and I and the politicians think. A huge number of people have decided to move past the pandemic.
Yeah, but that's in Alabama. Rep governor, Rep state legislature, right? Here in NC we have King Cooper who apparently has the power independent of the state legislature to impose new policies as he sees fit. Bars still closed. No alcohol sales after 11pm, stuff like that. I can't imagine the near martial law states that solid blue states are like. It's both the same everywhere.
Can I stop wearing this idiotic mask now?

The stupid thing couldn't even protect me from the raunchy fart this old coot ripped in cabellas this afternoon and it's going to protect me from covid19?

I know I shouldn't ask...but the thought occurred to me...do the dancers have to wear masks while they're "working"? Oh the irony.

Well then people hang out at beach houses or lake houses or just have a party at someone's house. I live in Atlanta (son is going to Auburn) and the Atlanta Beltline trail was packed solid every day during the worst of the lockdowns.

No doubt most people are trying to get back to living normally, just that local and state govs are variously supporting or hampering these attempts to varying degrees.

“Take it off”
has a whole new meaning in 2020
Here in NM there is no indoor dining allowed. 14 day quarantine if you come into the state, unless you are USL Soccer team in Abq. A ***** of a Gov. who goes after anyone who bucks her authority, including entire sheriffs offices and counties. We are encouraged to wear masks in our cars and exercising. Since the pandemic began, The Secretary of finance and health have quit. So has a deputy Secretary of education (who was doing the Education Secretarys job, as he stayed in Pennsylvania from March until last week) and the state epidemiologist quit a couple weeks ago.

But the Wuhan Grisham can go out and buy jewelry without a face mask on.

Quote:According to the retailer’s website, the pendant costs $425. Other items from the downtown boutique range from the hundreds and well into the thousands for artisanal pieces.

Multiple commenters on the post pointed out that the Governor was not wearing a mask, which goes in stark opposition to her massive “Mask Up” and “Protect New Mexico” campaigns urging citizens to wear masks in public.

Lujan Grisham may or may not have been social distancing (6 feet apart) while having her photo taken in the jewelry shop. It is unclear what the jewelry shop’s capacity is, however, Lujan Grisham’s orders allow only for 25% maximum occupancy in any retail setting.

Thousands of New Mexico businesses, including restaurants and hotels, are hurting due to the Governor’s strict regulations, which include a mandatory 14-day quarantine for out-of-state visitors and no indoor dining allowed at restaurants. The restrictions have prompted the cancellation of hundreds of out-of-state reservations at hotels, and over 210 New Mexico restaurants to go into permanent closure. This week, the Governor won a lawsuit in front of the New Mexico Supreme Court allowing her to fine businesses $5,000 for bucking her orders, with one hotel, Trinity Hotel and Restaurant, racking up fines upwards of $100,000.

Yep, that's what It's like in Michigan too. I get the sense people WANT to move on from it tho & are just wearing masks & closing business because our Governor wants it & what she wants we peasants must obey.

Correct: couple weeks ago when I was at Lake Michigan beaches, the town/beaches were packed & restaurants filling parking lots w/ outdoor seating. No one wearing a mask except when they have to go inside where Governor will come after the businesses for not enforcing it.
