Football Moves Austin Peay Game To Saturday, Sept. 19

Quote:The University of Cincinnati football team's 2020 season opener against Austin Peay will be moved to Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020 inside Nippert Stadium....

"With the Mid-American Conference moving their season to the spring, moving the Austin Peay game to Sept. 19 allows us to not have a month-long gap between our opener and the start of American Athletic Conference play," Cunningham said. "The APSU game will serve as our season opener and UC will not add a game during the first two weeks of September. We appreciate Austin Peay for being flexible with their scheduling."

Additionally, Cunningham said information on ticket availability would be sent to season-ticket holders in the near future.
Dear Lord it would be nice to have a competent, experienced AD. Other schools are adding OOC game but our rookie's best is:

So can our rookie get a 9/26 home game to have 6 at home? My money is on NO!

They could schedule Mount Notre Dame!
Maybe he tried and can’t get one...who knows? You certainly don’t

Here's a thought, what if 9/26 didn't have any takers, but the earlier weeks..... Did.

Maybe then he moved the AP game to accommodate other possible openings.

Or, maybe, you stop being a dbag all the time?

So the OVC cancelled conference only games, but OOC are still on? Guess they’re after that payday.
Most of the teams who need games ARE NOT coming to Nippert to play them.

03-lmfao Being a Dbag is what it does.
I certainly don't understand cancelling the season over this.

However, what's equally confusing is if you're going to play SOME games, why not play them ALL?

Maybe if you got UCATS emails you would know:
"The APSU game will serve as our season opener and UC will not add a game during the first two weeks of September. We appreciate Austin Peay for being flexible with their scheduling.”

Therefore 9/26 is that only slot could be considered.

I do get Ucats emails. And I bet if a quality opponent wanted to play us prior to that game, we would take it.

Speaking of getting Ucats emails, remember that one time you claimed you got an exclusive town hall meeting invite with the AD and everyone else did too?

Put your tape measure away, Napoleon.
I know it's easy to take shots at the new A.D. over this but it may well be at Coach Fickell's request to play just one tune-up game against APSU and then focus all the team's energy on the AAC games in this shortened season. I think our coaches and players are hungry for a conference championship after coming so close last season and if this is a strategy to accomplish that, I'm all in.

Playing before a larger national TV audience, staying ranked, winning the CCG, and getting to a higher profile bowl would make for a more satisfying season than a meaningless win over a random G5 or low tier P5 team in September.

Are you really expecting bowls? Interesting to examine which will be open. Rose is typically P12 v B10 so open, etc.

Fair question at this point and who really knows? Fickell and the 'Cats had a great experience at the Rose Bowl against UCLA and would gladly return I'm sure. Imagine the Rose Parade followed by Bearcat football in Pasadena?

Okay, I'll circle back to reality now.

The WR situation is a huge question mark. Everything else looks pretty damn great.

I believe the Rose Parade has been cancelled already.

I'm sure most teams looking for a big payday to come to Nippert would be somewhat disappointed. Uc isn't going to pay big numbers if they can only seat 10,000 fans. Do you really want to play a second FCS team before the conference season starts. Besides C-USA is their anyone else in the G5 still playing?
