While the Wuhan government has denied accusations of a far-reaching cover-up, the city’s own residents have insisted their own government is withholding information.
For example, Yang Satoshi, whose 24-year-old daughter died of coronavirus, told NNN in Japan that the Chinese government failed to “disclose information to its citizens”:
“I did not receive any information such as the new corona being contagious or potentially deadly. I wouldn’t let my daughter go out if I knew the possibility of human-to-human transmission. I would like you to explain why the government did not disclose information to its citizens.”
The revelations serve as the latest piece of evidence the Chinese Communist Party was engaged in an all-out effort to suppress accurate coronavirus information from reaching its citizens and the rest of the world, granting further credence to the fact that “China lied, people died.”

Yeah... when I look at the lists of nations and their corona cases, the obvious ones I call BS on are Russia, China, N. Korea, many parts of Africa and Iran.
I also look at our numbers and 'wonder' at just how stupid our press is... or how stupid we are....
Death rate for infected persons in NY/NJ is close to 10%. Death rate everywhere else in the US is closer to 2%... IF you get it.
Most likely scenario is that many many more people in NY/NJ had it than we knew initially... and lots of those asymptomatic people left NY and spread it. Now that places have started going back to work and school, we're doing spot checks for fevers... which of course could be caused by anything... and if you have a fever, you get a covid test... so we're catching lots of mildly symptomatic people that we otherwise wouldn't have... just like those that didn't get caught in NY/NJ.
These things are obvious and yet we never talk about them... Instead all we seem to focus on is the increasing number of diagnosed cases!!

On Jan. 31, the Trump administration declared a public health emergency for the novel coronavirus and announced travel restrictions to and from China, effective Feb. 2. As of that date, there were nine confirmed cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, in the U.S.
So yeah... we had 9 cases when he heavily restricted travel from China... from (going from memory, but I'm close) something like 400,000 people per month to around 4,000.
Your link (in typical fact-check style) is taking issue with his claim that thousands of lives had been saved as a result of these acts.... which is of course, highly logical and likely, but almost impossible to prove what 'might otherwise' have happened.... and not with the logical inference that reducing travel from the epicentre of the outbreak

The link was labeled "additionally". It was not to support the China travel restrictions, it was to point out that trumps insistence that these travel restrictions saved x number of lives is
as he can prove none of it. It also was published in April and we've since learned much more about when the virus was first here.
Bottom line, we did not "shut down air travel from China" as the poster indicated, and you know this.
And to your other post, you mention the issues of NY/NJ. And where did most of these cases come from? Europe. And while yes, trump also eventually imposed restrictions there, it was again the same problem. The rollout sucked and it was again too little too late.
