I put together my realignment ideas for College Football.

CUSA had some big changes.

The conference is now spread out across just 3 states.

4 AAC teams have entered, 3 Sun Belt teams and one division change.

Check out the new CUSA and where your team may have been moved.

Take Pat Forde's geographical alignment, then remove his inter-conference competitive leveling that would provide an opportunity to raise the bar for the G5 schools and you have this plan. No thanks.
Obviously North Texas fans would be mostly okay with this. It would make our annual game with SMU a division game and free up an OOC spot without losing the matchup. Playing Houston each year is a bit of a no-brainer as well. Keeping Rice is good and while the shine of UTSA has clearly worn off, I still like playing them because that's a driveable road game for me.
WKU to the MAC? No thanks.

Pitt, Navy, WVU, Maryland and Marshall! Yes please.
Slide UTEP over to the MWC instead of promoting North Dakota State. Cut loose that C-USA State Lines thing and instead bring in Tulsa, Louisiana Tech, Tulane, Louisiana, and Southern Mississippi. If USM does not like being the easternmost program, then I am good with Arkansas State instead.
Is this guy a LSU grad?

"The move features just three states, three states that love football Florida, LSU and Texas."

Did La Tech leave or were they kicked to the curb for asking the FCS team for money?
"New additions to the conference are USF, La Tech, Tulane, Louisiana, ULM, Houston and SMU"
Now I can see why he's a Cleveland State fan....

there is no state named "LSU."

Of course, this is no school named "Louisiana" either.
I am good with any re-alignment that excludes FAU from being in the same conference as Troy.
WKU doesn't have anything really in common with the teams from the MAC. WKU and Bowling Green, KY have always associated as being more southern.
Why would you have ODU independent instead of in the AAC south? That seems like a no-brainer to me. Especially before pulling up an FCS squad. The ACC would work for ODU too, but that seems too far fetched. Plus, unless TV money changes to be more equitable, you'd never see a team leave the Big 10 for the AAC.

Entertaining concept. But: #1. NEVER going to be a split between Western and MT. We are 100 miles (of Hate) apart and significant rivals in all sports. #2. SEC implodes before they either kick out Vandy or take in Memphis (though Memphis would be better in all sports but Baseball). #3 Ohio State kills any hope of Cincy joining B10. #4 no way in He**, MT goes back to a reconfigured SunBelt or UAB ends up there.

No ****. Can’t even find room for us in the Sun Belt. This is one of the looneyest configurations I’ve seen. What was even the point of writing this up?
Everybody loves a good Fantasy Football thread.

Here's a good one to debate: The SEC decides to kick out Alabama and LSU, and replace them with two Texas CUSA schools. Which two should they beg to join?

throughout all the realignment threads, i have seen a constant MT and WKU will never split. but why is that? MT happily left WKU in the Sun Belt to move to CUSA. are those schools as joined at the hip as posters make them out to be?

When MT accepted the invite to CUSA in '13; Western was advocating to move as well. Both believed CUSA offered a better opportunity for more money, better competition, & a bigger stage than SB. MT immediately advocated for Western to join CUSA, too. A year later they did so. The "joined at the hip scenario" is probably overblown. But, we do have a huge amount of common history over the last 50+ years. And, Bowling Green and the Boro citizenry and our respective alums are tied in many respects to Music City.
Puff puff pass.

Thanks for pointing out that mistake.

Not an LSU grad!
