“"COVID-19 has ravaged Florida, with more than 237,000 people testing positive and 2,013 dying from the virus in July alone.”

So what characteristic do all of the reports share? They are all false.

It is not true that 173 people died from COVID-19 “in a day” in Florida. Nor did 134, or 156 on previous days.

It is also untrue than 2,013 had died in July when that story was published.

All of these scary headlines are based on the number of deaths reported by the state on any given day. This is not the same as the number of deaths that occurred on those days...."

Florida actually recorded 19 deaths on the day that 173 were reported. That 4 day "spike" included deaths back to January 27th.
Now where is that guy on The ACC board that was telling us Florida wasn’t inflating their numbers. Democrats gonna Democrat...
I don't know what to believe anymore.

If they tested me and told me I was positive but asymptomatic, I wouldn't believe it. Yet, I'd get thrown on the pile as a "case" for the MSM to start jumping up and down about.

If a tree falls in the woods...

If they say you have a virus but you don't get sick...

What's the real answer???
That states Daily Death report is not just for that particular day is old news.

I guess I give MSM for talking about deaths tho. Usually they just fear monger w/ cases

Forgive me wondering whether this is an actual rather than rhetorical question? I assume it is, seeking an honest answer.

Yes, if you have it, you have it. You don't have to be symptomatic to have it (or spread it)... so although you don't need treatment, it is a good idea for you to practice 'good flu hygiene' for the safety of others.

As to the MSM...
One of a few things is true...
Either the current strains that are surviving the heat are much less deadly than the original strains or....
The biggest reason for the decrease in reported cases in NY is that as the testing rate increased, the asymptomatic (or mildly symptomatic) in NY were being sent home... and while they might now test positive for antibodies, most of the positives come from active viral tests, and they now have some immunity. On the contrary, places like Texas and Florida went home before the virus was very present here, and now that we're opening back up, more asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic people are being tested.

It seems the death rate in NY/NJ is around 8-9%... meaning that if you get it there, almost 10% die from it. In Texas and Fl, it's closer to 1%.

I guess you could get tested from two different testing sites using different tests? Not sure if it's worth all that trouble though. 04-cheers

I read a while back that the early tests had a 10% false positive.
My question is: How many people get the Flu every year, but have no symptoms?

The numbers reported by the CDC include their 'best guess' of this... you usually see a number like 40mm-60mm with a 95% confidence level. MOST people then use the midpoint for their analysis.. some others pick one end or the other to try and make a point.

Generally speaking I'd say more than half the reported number is people who were not formally diagnosed.... but most of them had some symptoms. This is why the focus on these specific numbers is so fraught with manipulation. The practice for healthcare doesn't try and determine an actual, finite number.
I don't care what you say, we've been played and we're continuing to get played.
This thing has taken on such a politicized nature it boggles the mind.
It's been all about politics since Day 1

Is this directed at me?

I don't disagree. The meme in the OP notes however that this is not unique to COVID nor is it unique to this time.

What it means is that the numbers show what the numbers show... and then people try and claim that it means something that it doesn't.

We're (mostly lead by the press and other 'drivers' of opinions) trying to use protocols designed to capture 'gross' events for micro-purposes.

Absolutely...by the end of this the mortality rate will be around 1%...I don’t believe anything these people say about this

The worst part is we still have significant numbers that offer no skepticism and swallow whatever the MSM says without question. It’s mind boggling.

.......if you’re scared - stay home. It’s really pretty simple.

If you’re aged or have other medical issues, it’s dangerous- stay home.

It’s been about politics since before Day 1. When you consider the previous administration funded research at the lab in Wuhan where the virus originated and conveniently warned the present administration about a coming pandemic.

The release of the virus coinciding with the failure of impeachment was rather timely as well.

I content if Hillary had won the election in 2016, there would have been no Covid-19, no pandemic...simply no need to destroy our Nation’s economy and kill thousands of Conservative voters.

Democrats are evil.

I won't go that far, but I definitely wonder about the timing of it.

Never put anything past the Left.
They are a Godless, moral-less scourge.

Nobody with any knowledge thinks its that high. The best estimates are around .25% to .50%.
