It is official. Washington will be changing the name of the “Redskins”. It’ll be interesting to see what they come up with for a new name. Red Raiders? Red Wolves? The Red Riot?!?

I am offended by this and will demand that the names of all states named after Native Americans be changed. Also, since we are talking about states, many names originate in foreign languages, such as California and Colorado. I'm sure those are offensive to those from Spanish-speaking countries. Some originate in other languages, such as French. Change those names, too.
I previously mentioned redskin peanuts. Since that is a derogatory term that had been used for Native Americans, I will write to Planters peanuts and demand that they get rid of the term and just call them peanuts with skins. But, then again, people with thin skin may get offended by that.
When does this thing stop? Do we need to just identify things by a letter or number? But then, the linguists and CPAs may get offended. The bottom line is that there is always something that "offends" someone. So, again, where does this stop?

Yes, they have a special relationship with the Seminole tribe, but money is what helps buy the relationship. Isn't it ironic that FSU uses all kinds of Native American symbolism and imagery, including their mascot, that other teams would be criticized for (such as Illinois). Also, the Atlanta Braves are being criticized for the "chop" the fans do at the games, while FSU fans do the same (plus their sick war chant). No criticism for FSU! Maybe what the sports teams should do is buy the permission from the Native American tribes. Then, an already rich Native American nation would become even more astoundingly rich. That's where it always ends up, doesn't it?

I was told by my crazy uncle in 2013 that if they allow gay marriage "When does it stop?!? Are people going to be able to marry their dog? How about a shoe?!?" They still won't grant me a Fido our marriage license at the county courthouse. I never thought my crazy uncle could have been overreacting!

Unless you are a member of the Seminole Tribe, I do not believe your feelings have any merit.

How could you be so callous to those poor peanuts?
