Indeed.
Unless his redshirt was medical he will not be able to play anywhere unless he goes to lower classification. This upcoming year is his 5th.

He'll go down as a graduate transfer.
Josh played very little last year and he wasn't going to receive additional playing time based on what we got coming in.

Better for him to transfer and start at another school and it's free's up another schooly!!!

That brain fart moment came to me last night. Completely forgot about grad transfer.
I will be disappointed if he or Troy Hurst were run off.
Was he the one time Alabama commit or am I getting him mixed up with someone else?

We have had a few players like that over the years. Then the starter or backup gets hurt and you are sort of stuck. This isn't like the good old days. Now, if you are 3rd on the depth chart at Memphis, you are a good player. It is easier to see with skilled position players, but it applies across the board.

Tevin Jones
Daniel Montiel
Joey Magnifico
Mose Frazier
Antonio Gibson
Anthony Miller
Kedarian Jones

Antonio Gibson
2018 - 6 catches, 99 yards, 2 TD

Anthony Miller
2014 - 9 catches, 54 yards, 2TD

Kedarian Jones
2018 - 9 catches, 90 yards, 1TD

Calvin Austin III
2018 - 2 catches, 24 yards, 0TD

I don't like losing anyone who sees the field the previous year. Austin Hall, Bryce Huff, Joseph Dorceus, Obinna Eze, Tank Jakes, Arthur Maulet, and Marcus Ball to name a few off the top of my head, all made huge improvements from one year to the next. Ball and Maulet were particularly bad early in their careers. Eze was a write off his first 2 years on campus. I was sad to see Mechane Slade transfer. He fit the profile to a T.

I can't blade Slade. I liked him too. But where was he going to get touches? He couldn't have predicted Pop and Dykes getting injured. Even then, with the emergence of Gibson, the addition of Trayveon Samual, the development of Calvin Austin, and the ability to move Kenny G to receiver, I don't see Slade getting many touches last year.

I'm trying to follow, but I honestly don't understand what you are trying to say. Gibson, Austin III, Jones, Gainwell and Samuel had a total of 28 catches between them in 2018. 6 players with 28 catches combined. Slade had 14 catches, more than any of the 5 you mentioned.

You are saying that before the season started, that you were able to determine that Slade wouldn't get playing time? I hope not.
