How would you move the P5 dead weight to a reasonable G5 conference? I'd move WSU and OSU to the MWC
ISU and Northwestern to the MAC
can't decide any more, mostly because they don't have G5 homes readily available

People always throw Northwestern out there. I wouldn't call the numbers I see with the Wildcats as "dead weight". Maybe dig a little more and you might find the other school in the same state as them more fitting for the dead weight term.
The PAC-12 ones were the most obvious ones to me. I could definitely be persuaded about others.
Let's move CSNbbs deadweight to Youtube first -- can we dump you off to the CFB Chronicle Shrek guy?

That Ohio River conference was very painful to look at.

Iowa State draws 60,000+ for home football games, and Northwestern outside of the 2019 season went to 4 straight bowl games.

Did you eat paint chips when you were a child or have you been hangout with NoDak too much?
These kinds of threads are always posted by fans of schools that are outside the P5 and think "my school belongs in the (insert initials of P5 conference) more than (insert name of P5 school the fan thinks is 'dead weight') does! Let's move them out and move my school in!

Problem is, the actual P5 conferences almost never agree. Go figure.

Most would try to go to AAC.

If we're talking MAC, Iowa St would fit better in the MW. Ames is too far out of the MAC's footprint.

Illinois, Purdue, Indiana more likely than Northwestern IMO.
I'm not Dustin, BTW. And I didn't eat paint chips.

Where would you move the SEC and ACC deadweight?

The answer to your question is quite clear. You wouldn't.

I don't like your thread that you started, but the innocence of your response is very enjoyable. Much respect to you!
Deadweight SEC & ACC schools would go to AAC
I don't get why this thread is so scandalous? Most of the talk on the Realignment Board is just for fun & is never going to happen
Washington State football was a pretty consistent top 25 program under Leach.

Oregon State has several baseball national titles.

You're right, I shouldn't have said I don't like this thread. Plus, what else is there to talk about? Sorry to the OP that I said that.
Denver: football is the ONLY sport people here care about. (FTR: you're absolutely correct, and I say that as fan of hoops first team)

You're a USF/Georgetown fan, right?

This is once again assuming football is the only criteria for strongest and weakest links of a conference. There are other criteria as well. The university that is great in football today could be a bad team 10 years from now or vice versa. I remember when Northwestern was really bad in football too. Yes Northwestern is better than Illinois in football lately. Do we know that will be the case 5 years from now? Illinois's the flagship university of the state and has way more alumni than Northwestern, including in the Chicago area. If Illinois and Northwestern were both just as good in football, Illinois would be way more valuable to the Big Ten.

Oregon State should stay for baseball alone. They have made the NCAA Tournament 13 times in the last 16 years and have won three national championships in that period (2006,2007,2018). Washington State has played well in football, as of late and in the past. They ended the 2018 season the No. 10 ranked team in the nation with an 11-2 record. It is challenging recruiting to Pullman, but they do a good job all things considered.

Even by that logic, deadweight doesn't really make sense. A conference is always going to have a worst team, so there's always going to be a new deadweight every few years.
How? Form a more prestigious conference and forget to invite them.
