It doesn't get much bigger than this!

Mark your calendar for Sept. 18, 2027 in Columbus and Sept. 9, 2028 in Tuscaloosa! Hopefully Bama and OSU are as good in 2027 and 2028 as they are now.

Not counting rivalry games that aren't played on a regular basis like Texas vs. Texas A&M, who would you like to see play that doesn't regularly play? I'd say Alabama vs. Clemson would be the ultimate.
Ohio State vs LSU
They have only met 3 times with the series at 1-1-1.
I remember all 3 games very well and would love to see this matchup more regularly.
It looks like "content games" can be arranged without moving teams from one conference to another.
This is an interesting question because if these teams stay good they will continue to face each other in the playoffs.

Clemson-Bama don't have to play in the regular season because they almost always make the playoffs.
This is the best home and home to be scheduled in quite a while.
I imagine Saban will be retired by then so we'll see what it looks like.
It’s odd to see Alabama scheduling so many home and homes. They had been the poster child for one-time neutral site games but maybe they are finding they can make more money by having an OOC gem i. The season ticket package.

Part of the issue is this...

Alabama fans have done a heck of a lot of travelling since 2007. That was not only the first year Saban took over, but it was the first year we played a big time neutral site game. We had Florida State in Jacksonville that year.

We've had a neutral site game virtually every year since then although we mixed in trips to Durham, NC and State College in 2010 and 2011 respectively. A lot of those games have been in nearby Atlanta, but many in Florida and Dallas as well. So basically, Bama fans have been asked to travel en masse for the equivalent of an early season bowl game for the last 13 years. We're scheduled to do it again this year with USC in Dallas and Miami in Atlanta next season.

We've also been to quite a few SEC Championship games during that time...another expensive trip when you start talking about tickets and travel costs.

We've been fortunate enough to go to numerous big time bowl games during this period...more expensive tickets and travel costs.

In the last few years, we've ended up with multiple bowl games with the way the CFP is set up....more expensive tickets and travel costs.

These are incredibly good problems to have, but the average Alabama fan isn't a rich man. At some point, more people than not get sick of traveling if for no more reason than the pocket book wears thin.

A lot of people would just rather take a quicker and less expensive trip to Tuscaloosa.

Fans can only pay SO much...

That makes a lot of sense. Making up to 4 neutral site trips in a season is a lot. (neutral site reg season game, CCG, Bowl/NC Semifinal, NCG)

I wonder if we will start to see some of the big time programs move the big OOC match ups back to campus and maybe only do neutral sites once or twice a decade?
