I’d rather live in Santa Barbara that Salt Lake City any day of the week.

You are thinking "living" there.

Someone of ZH's high school ranking is thinking of it as a coffee break on his way to (hopefully) a pro career.

I acknowledge that his on-court performance at UC didn't necessarily show that level of ability, yet. But being a top-50 national recruit out of high school would certainly make him have that mindset.

In that regards he would want the best program to help him move on to playing for a living.

Mike Saunders seems to be down to BYU and...Wichita State.

Tari Eason has had multiple virtual meetings with both of the Washington schools according to Twitter.

I am surprised that Zach Harvey committed to UC-Santa Barbara while one Madsen ended up at Utah, and the other has New Mexico and Iowa State courting him.

I was under the impression that ZH is the better prospect (both in high school rankings and in on-court performace at UC). But both Madsen's are landing at what I perceive as bigger / better programs.

Iowa State went 2-22 last year and was 171 on kenpom and New Mexico went 6-16 and was 294 on kenpom. UC-Santa Barbara is much better than both those schools.

If those were the choices I’d still go where I could get laid and have a beer.

Have you looked in the mirror? That first option was never on the table.
mountains over beaches... mountains over beaches. although i am currently reading (amongst others) a sailing book by james baldwin and i do kinda long to return to polynesia (though i think fiji is technically of melanesia. at any rate i was only there for about six hours; enough time to want to go back. at around page eighty i realized that this was the white james baldwin. i was always afraid this was going to be the case because i couldn't imagine the black james baldwin being a twentysomething in the mid eighties nor sailing for that matter. here i was picturing black james baldwin navigating the seedy port town of the panama canal or attempting relations aboard his vessel with a presumably pretty french girl in the sultry marquesas

probably not the only one

Out of necessity I specialized in being the sensitive pony tail rebound relationship guy who was a great listener.

The only thing better than Eason's mom on Twitter will be Eason's mom court side.

I put this in the new coach thread, but I guess it belongs here too:

I won't be shocked to see at least one of the former players return. Having said that, I'm somewhat uncomfortable with that scenario. I liked them all as players, but if the new coach is demanding in practice or things just don't go their way, will they immediately want to jump back into the transfer portal and we begin experiencing 2020-2021 all over again?

Has any of them followed Erik Martin on twitter (I'm joking - I don't creep on these kids like that)?
West Virginia starter Emmitt Matthew Jr. (7.7PPG) from last year is in the portal. No idea why he’s transferring but hopefully Martin can bring him with him.
