BOOM OUTTA HERE
Not surprised. Ate there once....wasn't bad but I've had way better. Atmosphere was cool though.

And for the price you would have thought I was eating in NYC.
Saw them on the news last night.

Don't recall what they did by there were protesters out front.

Could be over poor quality food and high prices.

At least that was my experience there.
Allegedly seating black customers upstairs so they couldn’t be seen by people on the street or something.
I don't know anything other than what I saw on social media,

The issues brought up were:

1) Systematically "hiding" African American diners from the rest of the restaurant.

2) Widespread sexual harassment of their female employees including firing women who didn't fit their "brand", giving women with a certain look promotions over other more qualified applicants, a couple instances of groping, etc.

3) Use of derogatory language towards people of color and women who dined or worked at their restaurants.
My son worked at Flight for several years. These accusations have been lying dormant for quite a while now. Sadly, I'm not shocked.
Yeah.

As a service industry vet, I have heard UGLY things about ownership/management for years.

Yep.

The manager of Flight is a great guy and not the problem. My opinion is that a rung above him, yaaaaaa, that is the issue.
Fair.
Not good business to treat people that way.
One of the owners has been shown the door.

Hell yeah.

I had heard a while back about management/servers at Flight not being friendly to a group of gay friends who were there for a big birthday dinner. Add to it these reports of blatant racism to both customers as well as employees/people interviewing for jobs, and obviously something's not right.

I was at Southern Social for brunch one day, and I literally could not tell a friend's daughter apart from other servers there because they apparently have been told to have the same hairstyle/makeup, etc. Past time for the dude running that show (Russ Graham) to GO.
They once contacted Greek Life to recruit UofM sororities for them to apply, with a very specific list of physical features and with preferably no service industry experience.

No experience is not that big a deal. Often part of training an experienced server includes eliminating bad habits. I was in the business during the '80s. Almost all of our girls were drop-dead gorgeous.
