Depends on where you think UAB is today. But I’ll take what AK has done over any situation one of those guys has stepped into.

Top three scorers (Lovan, Benjamin & TSG) and reserve big man Kassim Nicholson. Koby Jeffries returns but did not see any action last season.
We returned the right personnel plus added a lot of experienced talent (highlighted by two all-conference grad transfers & a P5 big man transfer).
Not knowing anything, my guess is Gueye was told he would have to earn every minute he got this upcoming season and he didn’t like that. After seeing what we brought in I’m not sure that he would’ve been better than our 8th man this season.

No offense to any of those guys, but where they ended up tells you a lot about the talent level of last year's roster. Looking forward to seeing more talent on the court, better player development, more consistent effort, and all around better basketball in the years ahead.
I really like Gueye but we needed him working hard in the low post THE WHOLE GAME not hanging out on perimeter like he was Kevin Durant.
He also drove me crazy bringing the ball down to his waist area in or near the lane and invariably having a guard strip, tie-up or rip the ball out. Same with Pearson.
i hope they get better big man coaching at their new homes. Both have a lot more untapped potential IMO.
