The ACC. But if you mean non-P5 teams with football: Temple, ECU, Navy, Marshall, WKU, JMU, App St, MTSU, Charlotte.

I wouldn’t hate Army, Ga St, UMass or UAB either. Figure Memphis and Cincinnati are non starters. If we could have them, swap out Middle and Charlotte. The extra travel would be worth it.
Marshall, App State, UAB, GA Southern, East Carolina, Charlotte, Western KY, Middle Tennessee, Navy, ODU
App. State, ECU, Army, Navy, Temple, Ga. Southern, Ga. State, UNCC, and ..............Marshall.
App State, Marshall, ECU, Temple, Navy, UNCC, WKU, Ga State, Ga Sou

Alternates: UAB, MTSU, Liberty, CCU
Richmond, JMU, Towson, William and Mary, Liberty, Charlotte, George Mason, and VCU.

Just being contrary, hope you laughed.
Texas, LSU, Alabama, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Penn State, Syracuse, N.C. State, Washington & Lee.

At least we won't go winless.

Love this but think Cinci would not be available.

I'm not choosing any FCS schools.

MTSU, WKY, Marshall, APP ST, Charlotte, ECU, Temple, Navy and Liberty

9th one is hard. I don't think GA Southern brings enough, no market value. Ga state brings a market where very few in the market cares a whole lot about.

I know a lot of people on here have he heebie jeebies about Liberty. But they have money and are willing to spend it.

Liberty is already FBS and gives us another close road game for football. ECU, Liberty, Temple and Navy are easy road trips. Charlotte and Marshall are interstate all the way, and I have relatives close by for reunions.
Dream Conference:

VA Tech, uva, NC State, UNC, Duke, Wake Forrest, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Clemson

Realistic:

UCF, Cincinnati, Memphis, ECU, Temple, UNCC, JMU*, South Florida, Navy

*If JMU can't get around the Cox Bill or find their budget version of T. Boons Pickens then Middle or WKU. They are interchangeable.
UVA, ECU, UNC, NC State, Duke, Wake Forest, Maryland, Navy, VT

...

Football only

UNCC, Marshall, WKU, MTSU, App St, Coastal, Liberty, GSU, GSU

Other sports

VCU, W&M, Richmond, JMU, GW, George Mason, UNCW, UNCG, Davidson,

I just spit out my coffee !

Us in the ACC 1st but we all know that is not a possibility. I feel we need to stay fairly tight geographically on the East Coast. So....
ODU
Marshall
ECU
Navy
App St.
Temple
UNCC
GSU
Coastal Carolina

This would be a very good football, basketball, and Baseball Conference as well.
New York Yankees
Chicago Cubs
Dallas Cowboys
New England Patriots
Los Angeles Lakers
Milwaukee Bucks
Real Madrid
Manchester United
PSG

We'd never win a game but just think of the media payout
Man, I am not sure I could do better, but these are some terrible basketball conferences.

WKU
MTSU
UAB
Charlotte
Marshall
App St
JMU
Liberty
ECU

* I realize UAB doesn't fit the footprint, but decent basketball programs that also play D1 football are pretty hard to come by.
App State
ECU
Charlotte
Marshall
JMU
WKU
MTSU
Ohio University
Temple
Now I'm going to constrain myself to schools that I think would consider this conference good enough to leave their current situation. No P5s, and if we're going to be honest, no AAC schools. I know ECU is having a money pinch right now but downgrading football to a more regional conference, in the process losing high-profile games against Houston, Cincinnati and UCF as well as whatever chance they have at getting a P5 invite, would do more harm than good.

So with that in mind:
Liberty
JMU
Charlotte
Marshall
Appalachian State
WKU
Middle Tennessee
UAB
Georgia State/Georgia Southern
FIU/Florida Atlantic

GSU and GaSo are a coin flip, as are FIU and FAU. I think there's validity in flying the flag in Florida, plus many if not most of the other schools in this conference recruit there. I presume here that UAB would take this conference over whatever CUSA would be after, but they're also the biggest geographic reach, so if they're not interested, sub them for one of the others receiving votes pile: Coastal Carolina, whatever of the GSU/F*U schools that didn't make the first cut, Belmont, Northern Kentucky, Murray State, Charleston and FGCU. At most I'd only want one non-FB school to allow for nine FB teams and an eight-game schedule, but I'm also not sure any of them (except Belmont) is consistent enough to warrant the add. No A-10 teams are leaving their conference as it's structured today for this.

Not bad, but I wouldnt mind keeping WKU and maybe Middle. Anything that gets us with Temple, Navy and ECU is good by me though.
great choices, keep them coming, memphis is a good one, navy would kill here.
