Why, because some redneck CUSA AD (LaTech) thinks his conference is actually relevant? He's a freakin' clown.
The Sunbelt Champ went to one of the lowest TV rated bowls to play.....

Good job riding the coat tail of The U. They brought those viewers, not La Tech. And if you believe otherwise, you have no credibility whatsoever.

Enjoy those Facebook streams again next season with 500 viewers!
Awful lot of scumbelt posters on an irrelevant cusa board.

Then the Sunbelt it is for USM. How would you prefer to pay your exit fee? Good luck to you.

I disagree. We are better academically, athletically, and historically than ULL. Louisiana is a state, ULL is a college.

They are now known as Louisiana no matter how much you all cry about it.

Not true. They are University of Louisiana @ Lafayette according to state law and to be addressed as such. You really don't like to argue facts do you? You just spout hyperbole to see who will bite. Classy.

We call them ULL as well BUT they are the University of Louisiana...Let's look at it this way...the University of Missouri is called just that in the SEC world BUT their official name is UM at Columbia...same goes for Wisconsin being UW at Madison and Illinois officially being U of I at Champagne...my guess is most of the big universities are U of _ at XXXXXX...

What law??? ULL is officially called (by law if that's how you'd put it) the University of Louisiana Lafayette or at Lafayette...but that doesn't stop the school wanting to be called U of Louisiana...they are most definitely the flagship university in that school system...just like my examples of Missouri, Wisconsin and Illinois...that doesn't stop the Sun Belt from listing them as UL...nobody is changing the "by law" name of the University...maybe the state troopers should arrest someone for breaking the law...here...watch this...they are the University of Louisiana or Louisiana...I live in St. Louis...send a state trooper on up to cite me for breaking the law...lol...but I understand your hate...

Ooop!!

Plenty of people call them by their preferred name. Doesn't mean we have to. Or that calling them by their official name is somehow below the (sun)belt.

Mack Brown is a good dude, met him several times since he took over UNC-CH as he's come by our HS on recruiting visits. Dude can sell a program like very few. Gotta believe it was an honest mistake on his part there.

Why is it a law that no one can the U of Louisiana?

There is none. ULL isn't anything special in the UL system. They changed their name to give people that impression. They tried in the 80s (?) and got shot down, then got ULM to change their name so ULL could change theirs. When the name change happened they were specifically prohibited from claiming themselves to be the flagship of the system or calling themselves UL, Louisiana, etc. Granted there were no teeth to the prohibition so ULL wisely gamed the system. At the time I don't even think they were the biggest school in the system, but Southeastern has declined over the years.

I normally refer to them as LA-La, but what law and why is it not enforced?
