Quarterback Maddox Kopp (6-5, 215) of Houston St. Thomas High School announced via Twitter May 28 he was offered a scholarship by Central Michigan.
A class of 2021 recruit, Kopp also reports offers from Ole Miss, Colorado, Houston, Miami, Tulane, Wyoming, Texas State, Lafayette, Lehigh, Cornell, VMI and Holy Cross.

Seems like there haven't been any verbals for a while now. Are we in a dead period? Hopefully with the ability for kids to visit campus there will be some smoke again. Seems like CMU is going after some talented QBs - I hope that McElwain and company can land one of them.

Yes, that's a fair assessment. CMU is still in the mix for Taylen Green, Grayson James and Marcus Morgan.
Green was just offered by Boise State and he has offers from San Diego State, Wyoming and UTEP, too.
Like Kopp, James competed in the Elite 11 finals this week and would be a tremendous get for the Chippewas.
Morgan (Iowa City West HS) has football offers from Iowa State (Feb. 2019), CMU and Ball State as well as a full baseball scholarship offer from Iowa to consider.

Let's see if CMU makes Maddox Kopp's Top 5 list to be released on Aug. 5. It's safe to assume Colorado, Ole Miss and Houston are three of the five schools, but who will the other two be?
