Thanks! Will add to the list
A very informative thread, yet, a very sad thread. Either way, I'll be following as I'm interested.

Thanks for the work, dbackjon!

You're welcome - yes, sad.

It's hard to keep up with them all - I had forgotten about Cincy's Soccer.
It happened before the pandemic but Valparaiso has dropped Men’s Soccer and Men’s Tennis

I'll add them as well - ODU's was based on a pre-pandemic study.

Cincinnati was as well-- we've been trying to dump men's soccer for three years. Timing worked out-- new AD, coach's contract was up, etc.
Central Michigan eliminated mens track.
Sonoma State dropped their D1 woman's water polo team and both men and women's tennis.

Before covid-19, Jacksonville dropped football.
UMKC is dropping men's tennis and women's golf when they join the Summit.

Which leaves them with 5 men's sports (football, basketball, baseball, cross country, wrestling). The minimum for FBS members is 6. They may have stumbled into a Chicago State situation.

Wow - they have the FBS minimum sports at 16, but the mix is off

This decision leaves the university with 16 athletic teams: Men's and women's basketball, football, women's soccer, women's golf, baseball, softball, men's and women's cross country, field hockey, women's track and field, gymnastics, women's lacrosse, volleyball and wrestling.

The D1 minimum is 14 sports, I believe.

14 unless you play FBS football, then 16, of which 6 have to be men's sports, 7 have to be women;s

If the day after the unprecedented Chicago St fiasco, someone else pulls off another one...I'm done. 03-lmfao
From my understanding CMU is keeping the sports they're just eliminating the financial support for them. They still field the team but the players are paying tuition more or less.

Division I can be 7/7 or 6/8 to get to 14.
Haven't readily found FBS split, but it is 16 total.

the AD says he knows they're out of compliance and has asked the NCAA for a waiver, also says he has some sort of fallback plan if that request is denied. Even if they get a waiver, it will only be temporary. Will have to add something back, like maybe men's golf.
