I know his father, retired Judge Spencer. If he's anything like his dad, he'll be a great choice.
The small sampling of opinions I've seen on social media is that he is a favorite professor and rising star.
Great Hire! I hope for the day that a story about a great hire doesn't have to lead with race, religion, gender or national origin.
Nine children. He and his wife have their hands full!
I don’t know anything other than what I read today, but this is a fine hire, and mutually-beneficial to both parties. Have to believe that his ultimate destination is the Federal Court of Appeals, with an outside shot at the Supremes. That is some resume!

I hear you, but it is kind of a big deal to be the 1st black Dean in the 328 year history of the college. Perhaps as it becomes more the norm it need not be mentioned.

Mr. Spencer seems to have the quality of character that will make a great law school dean. This is a great hire.
