Does BGST even have baseball

They have baseball. Akron and Buffalo did not for 2019 though Akron is planning to bring it back.

With BG now out and Akron 10 in it sets MAC baseball back to 10 members.

Ohio better never consider cutting baseball! Games at beautiful Bob Wren Stadium are great! I also enjoy Copperheads baseball games there in the summer. Sucks it's not happening this year!

We don't have Hockey. BG is deciding to save that and sacrifice baseball.

Yes, but we have club level hockey at the Bird!

Personally, I'll take the baseball with club hockey here in Athens. I'm sure some don't agree with that.
MAC schools should already be running at the minimum.
At one time baseball was a conference requirement. Obviously as some time that requirement was dropped, in order for Akron to be allowed to drop it.

(Though Akron has worked out a way for it to come back on a bargain basement budget basis ... which I guess implies it is going to be BBB Baseball as opposed to AAA Baseball).

But saying MAC schools should be aiming for the minimum says that only FB and BBall ever gives a marketing benefit. I'm not sure that is true ... I was living in NE Ohio when Akron won the NCAA soccer championship and when Kent State went to the CWS, and both received heavy coverage in greater Cleveland media.
Bowling Green baseball's dead, they say? Long live Bowling Green baseball!
Nice job by the Bowling Green alumni to raise $1.5 million to save the program.
Awesome - will update the list

Hockey is a much faster and physically hitting sport that fans seem to really enjoy!

Good on them, but if they had already been donating, the program would have been less likely to be cut. If they can raise funds to endow Baseball scholarships ... which are not guaranteed to move to another sport if Baseball is cut ... then that might be a more sustainable model.
Cut the sport and private funding magically appears
Looks like the schools are onto something here.
