Averaged 15.9 points and 11.5 rebounds.

Kneeling next to Dr. J.

#4 is Wendell Ladner.

Larry Kenon is arguably the best Tiger to play in the NBA behind Penny.
752 games in 12 years including the ABA years.

17.2 points 8.9 rebounds 2.2 assists career averages.

78% free throw shooter.
By the first year of the ABA-NBA merger (76-77) Kenon was with the Spurs. Imagine getting to play with Julius Erving one year and George Gervin the next. TigerTim is correct. Dr K was the 2nd best Tiger NBA player behind Penny. Before their first year in the NBA, the Spurs played a preseason game here at The Coliseum against the Hawks. Here's a copy of my roster sheet they gave that night. Lot's of future head coaches.

Cool!
Good stuff, guys.
Billy Paultz, lol....

I loved the ABA - Pros, Tams & Sounds. Great father-son time with Pops. I used to try to count all the cars in the parking lot before most games and could usually do it before we got to the MSC lobby. When the Dr. J & Mr. K show came to town, the lots were over half full.

Event town
I wish I was around for the ABA.

Agree.
Best all time Memphis NBA team?

Kenon
Barton
L. Wright
Penny
D. Rose

Tyreke, CDR, Askew, Perry on the bench

Seems spot on to me
When I was a kid, I saw the Nets J/K show play the Kentucky Colonels and Artis Gilmore in Louisville.

If Rose is allowed, then this seems about right.
I’m trying to think of Tiger hoopsters that have won NBA titles. All I can come up with is Earl Barron on the 2006 Miami Heat. There have to be more than him.

Bedford with the Pistons.
Once Bedford got to the NBA, he was known as Willie B, as a spin off on will he be. Willie be late, Willie show up, Willie he be high? Guy became a joke due to drug use and unreliable actions. In college, with the stars around him most of his career at Memphis, could get away with drug consumption, the NBA is an entirely different story. Phoenix should have vetted him better and wasted a first round choice (6th overall).

Could have been a Stud as a 7 footer that could run the floor like a deer and gifted touch, instead averaged 4 points and 2 boards a game. Watched him play in high school and at MSU, thought the guy was the next great NBA center. Could have had a David Robinson type career.

Sad....

Where is Keith Lee?
I think he was referring to NBA success and longevity
