WBB Twitter page has post dated April 23 that NIU has added Alexis Legan, 5-9 G from Rancho Mirage, Ca. (every place else said her hometown is Palm Desert). Confirmed transfer to NIU on wbball log.
She comes from Long Beach State, where the team went 13-17. Her stats for frosh year: played in 16 games, started one, averaged 6.8 min-pg, shot .441 overall and .480 from three (12 of 25 total), but only averaged 2.9 ppg due to limited playing time.
Her HS stats are good: named Desert Sun Athlete of the Year and Palm Desert High School Female Athlete of the Year, averaged 24 ppg, led PDHS to league title, had 1,334 career points. She set the school record for most ppg with 50 against Rancho Mirage HS in January 2019.
=====Add=== Found "The Beach," LBSU fan board. Apparently, Legan (and another frosh guard) decided to transfer. Saw limited playing time and there are two other guards coming off injury for next year. One poster said he talked to the coach, and their playing time likely would not increase much; from the tone, they parted on good terms. Several lamented the loss of who they called their best 3-pt shooter.
