"Check out our UNCW Athletics Facebook page tomorrow (Thursday, April 23) for a live Q&A chat with new Seahawk Men's Basketball Head Coach Takayo Siddle at 11 a.m.. Email questions in advance to browningj@uncw.edu."
"Not concerned at all about lack of height" Well coach, sorry but that's concerning. You mention Cacok, you don't have him now.
I can understand why size is not a number one concern. His top priorities are speed, length and scoring ability. And Dodd may not be Cacok, but as a freshman, he was way ahead of Cacok. He is already a better shot blocker. And he has more similarities than a lot of people think. He may never reach the level that Cacok has, but he's gotten a great start. I would still like to see another big man on the roster, but I also trust in what Siddle is doing. He helped develop Keatts'style of play. So I believe he knows what he's doing.

I still have to believe that he knows he needs another big that is eligible this year.

I can only hope he was doing the PC coach thing and not admitting weakness.
33- I do like Dodd, but, he's a bit smaller and he's not the rebounder Cacok was. So much of that is just having a knack for the ball. It's ok to go 75% in on your game plan, but you have to be ready for the other 25% too.
I remain confident that they're going to add a Grad Transfer to the frontcourt as the final piece. It might not be a player that blows us away but a solid piece. A 6'7" or 6'8" athletic PF that fits the mold of what we do. I think Dodd could benefit the most from this coaching change, however we definitely need more depth. There's still a lot of movement going on within the portal, so it's hard to tell when we'll know something but I'm just trying to trust the process.

What you're forgetting is this was his first year. And, as it stands for now, he beat Cacok in every category. He actually has a higher game time vertical already. The question is can he continue to improve his game? I was comparing him to Cacok out of high school. And I still see him turning into a beast. Never thought I would compare anyone to Devonte, but here I am.

What process? He's just starting out we don't know his "process". People are putting a lot of blind faith in a guy that has never been a HC. I think he can and will succeed but i'm a show me guy. And i want him to show me a big guy!

So, if you don't get what you want, can we expect a temper tantrum?

He's made it pretty clear in all of his interviews what he's trying to do at UNCW and how he plans to go about that. I trust what he says. I get wanting to see the results first, but I'm going to remain patient.
Patience of course is going to be needed. Anyone expecting as quick a turnaround as when KK came in is setting themselves up for disappointment. KK's turnaround was nothing short of miraculous. We cannot always expect that type of performance. The Wainwright/Brownell rebirth was not immediate. Patience is a virtue.

Right and one of those statements was he wasn't worried about getting bigs. So the process as he's explained it thus far has literally, a BIG hole.

He said he wasn't concerned with the lack of size on next years roster. He said nothing about recruiting bigs.

He's already got a 6'9" signee, and 3 offers to players ranging from 6'8'-6'10". It's definitely a priority

If he doesn’t get a big for next year he deserves the same crucification CB got here for doing the same. Let’s hope that’s not the case

I care about winning, not roster. If he puts a roster of 6'2" guys on the court and wins, i'm cool. If the lack of bigs leads to losses, then it's an issue. We also have no idea what he knows about Steere. He may be getting a heads up that Steers is good to go.

Right, it is all about winning. The Scary thing to me is his reference to Cacok as justification that you don't need a traditional 5. There is no Cacok on this team.
I'm hoping it's just coach speak for some other stuff he has up his sleeve.
Hear ya, and the end of the Duke game demonstrates the need for multiple bigs you can roll. Trading hoops sucks and that is what you get without proper rim protection.
