LANSING — After Friday, Michigan residents will no longer be able to jump in the car — or cross the street — to visit friends and relatives inside the state, or to go to the cottage Up North, with limited exceptions.

“All public and private gatherings of any size are prohibited," Whitmer said at a news conference. "People can still leave the house for outdoor activities," and outdoor "recreational activities are still permitted as long as they’re taking place outside of six feet from anyone else.”

yeah except for those soulless eyes, they look blank...
It feels like these governors are trying to one up each other in liberty restriction
Odd that Massachusetts still doesn't have a mandatory order. Relatively early on they had an advisory, but its not mandatory, just a suggestion.

Nothing like a crisis to take away your freedom and destroy the economy....

Barr's on the job.

"...Attorney General William Barr Wednesday called the restrictions in effect in many states to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus "draconian" and said they should be revisited next month.

Asked by Fox News host Laura Ingraham about the balance between religious freedoms and the need to protect people from the coronavirus with restrictions like stay-at-home orders, Barr said the federal government would be "keeping a careful eye on" states' use of broad powers to regulate the lives of their citizens.

Officials, Barr said, should be "very careful to make sure...that the draconian measures that are being adopted are fully justified, and there are not alternative ways of protecting people....""

Yep. There are A LOT of Detroit area folk who have a 2nd residence elsewhere in the state. They pay taxes on both residences. It's absurd that they are being told they can only use one of them.

On a tangent:

The MI State Legislature is Republican majority --- they have some fault here too because they're not really objecting to these Executive Orders.

It's been 28+ days since Whitmer originally declared a state of emergency, and per the Michigan constitution, once you are past the 28 day mark she has to ask the Legislature to approve an extension of the declaration and the Orders that come with it.

It's a mess back in my childhood home state of Michigan.

Nah, if they are truly draconian they should be addressed tomorrow.
