1. Constantly making the claim that young people have nothing to worry about with regards to this virus and we shouldn't shut down the economy considering this. Then, when many thousands of protesters hit the streets (with likely 90+% of them under the age of 35), all of a sudden social distancing is a big deal. Make up your mind. 01-wingedeagle

2. The World Health Organization is a joke. We are right to withdraw money to them. Booooo on WHO! (hey, it rhymes!) WHO is evil. Wait, what's that? WHO just released some info that might support my case? Well, hell yes. Let's run around and quote that as evidence we shouldn't have shut down the economy. Make up your mind. 01-wingedeagle

(note, in reports this morning, WHO plans to release more information to clarify their commentary from yesterday as apparently the confusion created isn't as cut and dry as some are interpreting...but, we knew that already right? after all, WHO is evil and we shouldn't be giving them any money and can't believe anything they say...well, except when it somehow supports our arguments 01-wingedeagle)

I think it is ironic that when you a have a perfect opportunity to hide your identity with a mask when you are looting and burning things down that you fail to do so.

I actually agree with you. In fact, though there is nothing funny about looting and burning businesses, I made this exact same observation to my much better half this past weekend while chuckling under my breath. Again, nothing funny about it. In fact, it is disgusting. But, to your point, if there was ever the right time to disguise yourself when conducting crimes the drive for masking one's face it's now.

It's another example though of how folks will see what they want to see - and normally it is to support their agenda or beliefs. Not directed at you at all, btw. The number of peaceful protesters are well over 98% and like often happens it is the 2% folks who are looting and committing crimes that the "other side" wants to focus on. Among those 98% of peaceful protesters I'd be willing to guess at least 90% of them believe looting and burning businesses are disgusting and don't agree with it.

On the other side, when protesters show up with assault weapons and a guy (once again in Virginia yesterday) decides to drive his vehicle into a group of protesters, I'm pretty sure the vast majority of folks who are against these protesters will say driving a vehicle into them (ala Charlottesville 3 years ago) with intent to harm and even kill (Charlottesville) is dead wrong (pun intended). You see what you want to see when looking at the other side. We are divided. Not sure there will ever be any coming back. Looting and burning businesses is disgusting. Assaulting peaceful protesters is disgusting. While we are divided, I bet the vast majority of level-headed Americans agree on both of those cases no matter what "side" you happen to be on.

Bingo!

Personally, I believe the WHO is a corrupt organization that is pandering for those American dollars they need so badly. They have been wrong, wrong, wrong from the jump! And, now we are supposed to believe that they just discovered this game-changing news. GMAFB!

Wait...what? Bill just said we’ll all be fine because of what WHO just said. And then you said “Bingo!” as if to agree. ...And then you said WHO has been wrong the whole time and we shouldn’t believe them.

Read much? What Bill said is that the WHO is "admitting" they were wrong, grossly negligently wrong!

Many thousands have died due to the criminal negligence of those who authored and swore by the Lancet report and the other Surgisphere report. The responsible parties should not be admonished by the press, they should be prosecuted, including, and especially, those in the WHO.
The World Police should charge them.
The people who looted are people that took advantage of an opportunity to do what they do. It had nothing to do with the concerns of the protesters, and most of the people in the US.

Well, Bill, it took all of 24 hours for WHO to walk back that EXCITING NEW CLAIM!

Quote: “I wasn’t stating a policy of WHO or anything like that,” she said. “We do know that some people who are asymptomatic, or some people who do not have symptoms, can transmit the virus on.”
It was not the “intent of WHO to say there is a new or different policy,” added Mike Ryan, head of emergency programs for WHO. “There is still too much unknown about this virus and still too much unknown about its transmission dynamics.”

Quote: “It’s a mess. I don’t know why they would say asymptomatic transmission is very rare when the truth is we simply don’t know how frequent it is,” said Eric Topol, a professor of molecular medicine at Scripps Research. “And it doesn’t change the facts we do know, which is that this virus is very transmissible and is very hard to combat.”

Caught with your pants down and no one’s behind you streaking the quad. It’s almost like my comment about lots of research left to do was oddly prescient.
They aren't walking back anything. They said it was 'very rare' and now they are stating it can happen. fine, it can happen, but it is VERY RARE. The woman from the WHO that made that conclusion was basing it on hundreds of reports of contact tracers done all over the world. WaPo = fake news. Eric Topol is a cardiologist with an opinion based on nothing the WHO is referring to. Keep swinging brother!
Wow. Fake news. Nice.

Thank you Richard Cranium.
Yeah he’s being too mean, so his points are invalid. HECK, HE’S FAKE NEWS TOO!

the whole "ridicule others whose viewpoint is different from mine" is lame

Mean is your take, not mine. I just have little tolerance for those that can not/will not acknowledge any view but their own.
Science doesn’t have a viewpoint.
You must be right and I just missed the consistency of message, information, projections et. al. from our scientists.

Listening to those without scientific credibility is indeed a problem.
There are protesters who are protesting against protesters. I am going to add a 3rd layer and protest against those who are protesting against those who protest. I would greatly appreciate it if some of you could add a 4th layer and protest me, who is protesting against the protesters of those who are protesting. I figure after we get to about a 7th layer, folks will not be able to figure out which side we are all on and we'll perhaps get along better.

Then, once everyone is enlightened we can all get together on the same side and do what needs to be done. Which, of course, is loot and burn down the Bitchmond University campus.

Just sayin'.

04-cheers

Clarify your objection with what just happened.

A person from WHO: asymptomatic carriers very rarely pass COVID
Bill: SEE? It was a waste the whole time!
Me: Hold on there Bill, lots of research still to go
WHO: Well hold on there everyone, lots of research still to go
Me: See above.

This has nothing to do with “points of view.” We’re talking about scientific guidance.
Speaking of scientific guidance, I will now just for the moment withdraw my protestations and go make myself a Cloroxitini and take my daily injection of Hydroxycloroquine.

Science is cool.

03-thumbsup

But, I'll be back shortly to protest you losers. 04-cheers
There is no reason to cancel fall sports. Stay at home with your masks on, freaking out that you'll be dead if someone within 6 feet of you sneezes, matters not to me. I will be at the games, I will not be wearing a mask and I know (despite the incomplete research and conflicting opinions of 'experts') that I have a much better chance of being hit by lightning on a sunny day while riding an elephant through the quad than I do of catching Covid19. There is no need to cancel fall sports.
I will not be protesting against Wear Purple. However, I’d like to direct my outrage about people with similar names as him directly at him.

Like:

Covid-19 is not infectious from human to human/ asymptomatic people are spreading the virus
Only those with a temperature are infectious/ everybody may be infectious
Masks don't help/ everyone should wear a mask
Hydroxychloroquine works in France but will kill you in the US/ the W.H.O is testing Hydroxychloriquine for Covid-19.
Social distancing is paramount/ protest to your heart's content.
2.4 million will die/ only 60k will die/ whoa, wait a minute.
UV light kills the virus/ don't go outside because it's not safe.

I guess we will ignore the CDC, Fauci, Birx, the W.H.O (well maybe) and let you guys think for us.
