America needs to be self sufficient.

The broader view would be that every nation or region should be self-sufficient.

If that was the goal, then anytime a country found itself unable to meet production needs, there would be many other producing nations available to help.

Simply moving production here won't solve anything. Let's say you build a big plant to make masks. If that plant is destroyed, you lose the capacity. But, if you have self-sufficiency as a regional goal, loss of capacity in one region is not crippling.

It would be in the world's interest to encourage manufacturers to have many points of production around the world. It would create economies where there are none now. It would help industrialize the rest of the planet. And it just might save our asses one day.

Dont care one wit about rest of world. Theyve milked us enough. Frick em. America needs to be self sufficient

China was really good at making sh*t that didnt work as quickly and cheaply as possible.
