17 regular-season games, expansion from 6 to 7 playoff teams per conference, and 55 roster spots vs. 53. I don't necessarily mind those changes, but I would prefer to see a slightly larger roster size and a rule that each player is only eligible for 16 games. That way, record keeping stays consistent in the modern era and coaches and general managers have to strategize how to use their players' availability. I think that would be really fun to see. Kind of hard to argue for player safety if you make all players play 17 games.

I hate the move to 17. It's by definition an unbalanced schedule as half the teams will have more home games. Now if the 17th game is mandated to be neutral- Mexico, London and perhaps having regional neutral sites like Bengals-Bears at ND or OSU.
Also this is a violent sport with a high percentage of season ending injuries. One more game increases the chances of the best players being out by playoff time. There's no way they're going to limit players games and make teams play with key players out.
