His quote in the Memphis Flyer just prior to what was supposed to be the start of the conference tourney:

"With the amount of players returning, we should have way more experience," adds Quinones. "And [we'll be] working hard this summer, expecting things might go south, and how we'll recover. We'll have that experience next year. Bigger goals. Bigger accomplishments."

It’s refreshing to see guys post this stuff and have positive spins instead of all the trolls starting BS about transfers. +3
Yes! He is a dominant force. I would miss his air-guitar so bad, and his trend-setting shorts.
Is him leaving an actual rumor?

A made up rumor with no basis.

I figure he also has a grasp on who those "other" returning players are...if some of our fans don't talk them out of staying.

Well, he sent a tweet or insta pic saying he loves Memphis... Naturally, if you squint just right, stand on your head, shove a needle in your eye and then start spinning you can see the perspective of how some take that as a sign he is leaving.

Yea, I drink too much to do that and stay upright.

Good news, drinking too much could also lead to the same impaired viewpoint as well, although not all will experience it... 04-cheers

Were the athletes sent home with all the other students? He could technically be leaving Memphis for the next month or two and conceivably return.
All of the team posted happy celebratory posts on IG yesterday at the news of the game being cancelled, lesters was no different.

So going by that the entire team is leaving

There is that!
Lester has a shot at the NBA draft next year. Wouldn't make much sense to transfer and sit out a year.

Boogie is the same. Both will likely test the draft waters this year, based upon their positive reviews from the preseason practice combine. They along with DJ will get feedback and want to work on that, rather than sit out a year somewhere.

Unless the rule gets changed. But it would be a first for the NCAA to announce they might do something and then actually do it in the same year.

At the same time, I fully expect 2 transfers. It is the norm these days. I don't want to lose any guys, but we likely will.

Your computer is lagging by about 5 months, which is how long ago this post was even 1% accurate. At least you didn't include Baugh.

I watched the same season you did. But truth is, these guys are going to test the waters. It costs them nothing and that has been the plan all along. You will see.

I hope it isn't a trend...One of the best things about Fab Five was getting folks to wear longer shorts.
With experience Lester could become a great rebounding guard. He’s already a good rebounder.
Let’s hope Lester returns.

Lester is one of those guys that has a shot at the NBA in 3 years. He has the brain, talent and size to be a very special college guard/forward.

Less is more for most players trying to get in the NBA. (Show them just enough and try to hide your weaknesses) I think Quinones is the opposite. If he goes now there is a 100% chance he doesn't make the NBA. If he hones his craft during the next 3 seasons in college, he will be ready and will play in the NBA. I can see Lester now as the glue guy on any top NBA team in a few years. Remember Lester, the NBA is all about the second contract.
I love Lester and all of these guys. Having a year in their pocket will be so big for them coming back. Transfers are a part of the game these days, so we'll maybe see a few like everyone else, but I'm excited for what lies ahead.
