The SEC, Big 10, and AAC have cancelled their tournaments. It is looking like the NCAA Tournament will eventually be cancelled. Why are we playing our tournament? I know LR has left for New Orleans. There is a new invention called a cell phone. We can call them to come home. Little Rock won the league by 2 full games. We are the Champions. If we aren't going to be sending a team to the NCAA tournament why play the games this weekend?
Personally, I do hope they play the NCAA Tournament. March is my favorite time of the year, and there is nothing I look forward to more than March Madness. But, I find it hard to believe that we will let college kids play when multibillion dollar businesses like the NBA and NHL are shutting down. One, two, or more NCAA teams will announce they are not sending their team to the NCAA tournament for safety reasons. That will be the end of it. Sad, but likely true.

Don't have an answer, but it is done. Unfortunately, March Madness is likely done as well.
Saw where the Sun Belt did indeed cancel the rest of the basketball touraments.
So, do the winners of the SBC regular season get the auto-bid? The NCAA announced today that the NIT and NCAA Tournaments will continue as scheduled with no fans in attendance.

So it's officially over. I said earlier, a team or two, would say they weren't playing and that would be it. Didn't expect it to be Duke and Kansas, but that makes it that more obvious that basketball season is over.

And force all the blue chippers and otherwise draft hopefuls to choose between preparing for the draft and workouts, as they would normally be doing six weeks from now, and playing in a tournament that has already lost momentum? There would be no choice there...they would choose to look after their professional futures at that juncture. Not to mention the logistics of securing and changing all the sites you would need...places are gonna be booked for different things.
Even if Duke and similar teams don’t announce they are cancelling all spring sports no matter what, this thing isn’t viable any way you look at it. It’s not gonna happen. It’s the ‘94 baseball season, just move on and look forward to next year.
Not to mention...the basketball would probably be TERRIBLE. These teams would essentially be disbanding for a month or more and expected to get back together and play like they were playing. It won’t be like that. This thing is finished.

All the best to you and all of yours. I can't imagine what that's like. It's gonna get better, and it will be in large part because of what people like you have to endure right now.
Stay strong...and in order to keep your stress levels down, avoid moderating any inflammatory posts from Georgia Southern fans who will inevitably get bored and ornery due to the sports layoff=) I kid! Kinda!
High school athletics in Alabama for the spring are on hold until at least April 6th, if they return at all. Schools are also shut down until then. They are not allowed to practice, train or even lift weights.
