This shouldn’t excuse Ehsan for being a mediocre coach. Fire him
As has been pointed out many times, a university Athletic Department can FIRE any coach at any time of its choosing. It is not so easy to HIRE a coach during that sport's season. Since this season is developing in such an unusual way, that time of hiring may be open to interpretation leading to possible charges of TAMPERING. Remember when the threat of such a charge caused UAB to back off on a senior transfer several seasons ago?

I remember when it got a coach fired.

As for Ehsan's contract, since he's been forced off the job by an Act of God, I would assume that insurance now kicks in to cover his pay. What AD would be stupid enough to fire him now? oh yeah . . .

No doubt. Four years of misery. Fire his ass today.
The true misery is reading posts by whiny UAB fans.

You’re ignorant
Blazerman’s head is so far up his arse it’s unbelievable.

Fire Ehsan. Don’t let the program continue sinking.
No way we're making a change in this environment. Coronavirus has saved Ehsan's job.

Kansas just announced the same

Ingram should announce that UAB is not going to go to the NCAA tournament this year.

FIFY!!! Lol
I’m an @sshole. I’m willing to make tough calls in tough environments. Look at it this way, what hires has Ingram made that resulted in success? Am I missing something?

Norton belongs to Mackin. Clark to Mackin, don’t forget rumors of Ingram pondered hiring his own coach following reinstatement.

Kolatis is looking promising with another year or 2.

I understand the look it will give us publicly if we made such a move during this panic, or even after not getting to see what happens following a win on Wednesday. But, making decisions that are best for the program is what Ingram is getting paid for. Time to make some good ones, for a change.

Ehsan’s new quote is, “we’ve played good ball in March”. Yeah, that was also against mid level of conference. Was at real risk of playing in the bottom pod.

Man, basketball attendance is gonna reek next season.

At this point all we can do is hope a miracle happens and somehow, someway we turn the corner.

I ain't betting on it.

None that I know of. Even the Golden Girls coach is a historic failure, proportionately much worse than Rob Ehsan, who at least represents UAB while fully clothed.

Firing Ehsan means a Fumbles hire. None of the other finalists is currently coaching basketball; one's on probation and probably should have gone to prison.

One might say that we can't do worse than what we have. I fear that Doughnut Boy is up to that challenge.
I’d already be on the phone with McKay at Liberty, Forbes at ETSU, or McMahon at Murray State

I don’t think this is the environment to be firing coaches, so I’m guessing he’s back.

That's BS, 3 schools have fired schools this week (Grand Canyon, Western Michigan and Wyoming). This virus panic has zero to do with looking out for what's best for a program moving forward. Eshan needed be gone before all of this, he needs to be gone now and he definitely needs to be gone when it's all done.

Ingram should announce a change is being made or submit his resignation. If he can't see it by now, he has no business pretending he is capable of running a D-I athletic program successfully.
Hell I’d take a chance on AJ at this point over another year of Ehsan. What’s going on in the world today has nothing to do with the job he has done during his tenure at UAB.

How do we know that these suggested BBHCs (or some others) were not approached and replied "NO!" or perhaps "Hell, NO!"? No AD is going to fire his present coach without any desirable replacement at least showing interest. How desirable (talent pool, facilities, financial backing, etc) is our BBHC job perceived among the G5 coaches who might be approached? I have no idea, but there is certainly talk among the "fraternity members".
Man, some of these predictions aged poorly really quickly
