I wonder if next season will be delayed. I know that's a long time, and "wait and see what happens" and all that, but the thought occurred to me that James Wiseman could get hosed again, first by the NCAA and then by the COVID. I guess he's the most extreme case of coming out early this year, well, I think I read on here that someone else had left college and declared for the draft in January.

Hopefully they'll cancel the remainder of the regular season. Virtually, the playoffs are set in the Eastern Conference, and the Grizzlies are battling for the 8th seed in the Western Conference, that's the only "playoff race" that'll determine whether if a team makes it or not.
We have a month of the regular season left, if they start the remainder of the regular season in mid-April during the start of the playoffs, then it'll end in mid-May. Meaning the playoffs will run through mid-July giving the players a shorter offseason.
Also, the NBA draft is in the later part of June, the NBA free agency begins July 1st, and the NBA summer games are in mid/late July. It's best for the NBA to cancel the remainder of the NBA regular season.

NFL would be shut down too if the season was going on.

NBA has already told teams to hold their arena's schedules open until early August. Now does that mean they are going to finish the regular season and then do the playoffs? I don't know, but the playoffs for sure will happen.
