Do you think the American Conference Tournament being held in FT WORTH will hurt attendance at C-USA in Frisco being held at same time? It would only be fair to give Frisco a break with attendance numbers this year. By the way, does anyone know which floor setup is being used this year? Are courts running parallel to permanent stands or are the permanent stands in the endzone? Judy's secretary emailed me a month ago and reiterated that all conference presidents voted for 2 mens games being played at same time. They would not answer who came up with idea as I mentioned it was dumb idea in my opinion.
Curtain time at the Cowboys practice field! 04-rock02-13-banana
I think the tournament at Frisco in a football practice facility is one of the dumbest things our conference has ever done. The tournament needs to be held in a real arena where basketball is regularly played. I don’t care what conference tournament is going on where, attendance won’t be good unless the team hosting the tournament is playing.
Attendance will be bad
It will have nothing to do with the other tournaments
To answer the question about hurting attendance, no I don’t think it will. We have to actually have attendance numbers in order for them to be hurt.

To piggyback off of BandGrad, this is the dumbest thing the conference has ever done in my opinion, and that is saying something given the history of this conference. I’m of the opinion higher seeds need to host until maybe we have a top four. I also wouldn’t be opposed to a third place game at that point since the four schools would be in the same place.
Watching Wofford and ETSU with 29 wins playing in SoCon finals. If Wofford wins there is good possibility that ETSU gets snubbed by NCAA. This is something C-USA folks should watch moving forward. Play the conference tournament at higher seeds all the way through. It would add to bonus games to avoid possible neutral floor upsets in early rounds. Then if a 2 seed beats 1 seed in finals one team gets quality win and other team avoids bad loss. SoCon possibly suffers by Furman and UNCG losing in tounament quarters. ETSU clearly deserves a NCAA bid win or lose tonight. But who knows? A 20 win Wofford is considered a bad loss just ridiculous.
We are also a 1 bid league. Will be for quite some time.
If I read the Facebook post correctly, the band, cheerleaders and golden girls will not be traveling to the tournament due to the corona virus.

A loss to 20-win UAB teams over the past few years would have been considered a bad loss as well...

Leave it up to UAB to go overboard on this virus deal.

You can't praise UAB for being a medical epicenter and then criticize them for actually trying to prevent a pandemic-level threat from happening.

Socon would have been this year if etsu lost, Wcc is multi bid league, as was the Ohio valley last year. Maybe we need better coaching to get us there
Better coaching would be great but we are still a one bid league even if a team from this league has only three or four losses. Welcome to reality. Let it sink in. Now open your wallets and let’s work to get better facilities and better league affiliation.

Maybe if we keep playing multiple D2 schools

Sure he can. The people who keep thinking this is nothing more than the regular flu are just simply choosing to not live in reality.
Maybe some should stop professing to know certain science when the science isn't certain.
Ivy League cancelled their tournament and in-person classes. Panic is getting out of control.

At least the regular season champs get the auto bid like they deserve.

What makes it right for the champs to be allowed to continue playing and not the rest of the conference if the goal is to keep them from exposure to the virus?

Country is @ss-backwards with the media gaslighting every issue in hopes it has an effect on the election.

Quote:The Providence, Rhode Island-based (Ivy) league said the decision was made in "accordance with the guidance of public health and medical professionals to discourage and limit large gatherings on campuses in light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation."

For most people, the new coronavirus causes only mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia. The vast majority of people recover from the new virus.
Meanwhile, Jeanne Marrazzo and Rachael Lee represent everything UAB stands for: "The best thing we can do is practice prevention in all forms and fashions."

I think I'm riding with them over that dude with the "special ability."
