Tallying up the CAA ROW final leaderboard:
1. Hunter McIntosh, Elon: 4
Tyson Walker, NU: 4
3. Shykeim Phillips, UNCW: 3
4. Imajae Dodd, UNCW: 1
Jason Gibson, Towson: 1
Zac Ervin, Elon: 1
Hunter Woods, Elon: 1
Michael Christmas, JMU: 1
Julien Wooden, JMU: 1
Phillips gave it a good run, but the favorite has to be McIntosh, with Walker a close 2nd. I believe Walker won 2 of his ROW awards prior to CAA play whereas McIntosh won 3, and McIntosh's numbers in CAA-only games have been better. McIntosh ranks among the CAA leaders in 5 categories in CAA-only stats:
McIntosh: 12.5 ppg (# 14), 3.7 apg (# 6), .404 3-pt % (# 12), 2.3 3PM/game (# 7), 2.3 A/TO Ratio (# 1)
Walker: 11.2 ppg (# 21), 3.6 apg (# 7)
Phillips: 2.5 apg (# 15), 1.9 spg (# 4)
McIntosh, Walker and Phillips will all find themselves on the All-Rookie team, with the other 2 spots up in the air.
On a side note, Elon had 3 different players receive at least 1 ROW award. Maybe a bright future ahead for the Phoenix, especially given their strong play to finish the season (won 5 of their final 8).
