*Memphis leads the series 14-11
*Memphis is 5-6 all-time @ SMU
*Memphis is 269-153 (.637) all-time against current AAC schools (MemphisTigerFreak.com)
*‎Penny Hardaway is 41-22 overall in his 2nd season at Memphis
*Tim Jankovich is 89-46 in his 4th season at SMU and is 246-167 in his 13th overall
*‎Memphis is 1631-929-1 (.637) all-time
If you read the SMU game-day story, you come away wondering how they ever lose. But lose they do, but rarely on their home court. If Memphis brings the intensity they played with against Houston, this is a winnable game. good luck Tigers.

I remember SMU having some pretty serious size. Supposedly Vegas factors home court advantage in MBB for 7-10 pts. That's pretty serious. Even though it's SMU, we have a battle on our hands. Let's go down to Dallas and TCB!

BTW, give me the Tigers +5. We're hungry and playing our best ball in late Feb. Can't think of a better way to do it.

Got to stop SMU's perimeter production - that has been a real weakness for us all year.

And yet opponents only shoot 29% from 3 against us which is 26th best in the country. Last time we played them they were 11-34 (32%) from 3.

Memphis did not score in the last five minutes of the last SMU game, Mike hit two threes and they made up 11 points plus to steal the win

They are a good team. We are a good team. Cannot have minute lapses

The last two road games saw solid second half leads slip away, the Cincy lead more annoying because of that never forgotten insanely bad block call that kept them in the game

Should be fun, and a win gets solidly back on the bubble. We are either first four out or the very next team out in several projections. A road win is big
I had a good feeling we were going to win against Houston - although that feeling had faded going into the home stretch - and I've got it again. GTG! We can win this one if we can maintain the intensity and focus we displayed against the Coogs. If effort and heart means anything, and it absolutely does, we have a great chance.

Exactly. This "small guard" agenda is getting a bit old.
Gotta have this one and the next 2 for sure to get serious consideration for an NCAA at large bid.

It was actually 6 minutes and 5 seconds. It seems like nearly every game we are going to have a shooting drought.

Shooting droughts over 4 minutes in conference games:
SMU - 6:05 no FG's
Houston - 6:21 no FG's, 7:39 no FG's, 8 free throws
UConn - 7:05 no FG's, 3 free throws, 4:04 no FG's
USF - 5:02 no FG's, 2 free throws
Wichita State - 5:21 no FG's, 2 free throws, 4:19 no FG's, 1 free throw
@USF - 5:10 no FG's, 2 free throws
Cincy - 7:53 no FG's, 1 free throw, 5:15 no FG's , 4:33 with no FG's

It just shows how good our defense is to be able to keep us in these games while we aren't scoring.

I couldn't agree more. The Tigers intensity was very good against Houston. I'm sure the staff pointed that out to the team. It makes a difference when you show up ready to go.
