#12 NU Men's Hockey got much needed 4-point weekend sweep of Umass-Lowell, 3-0 at Lowell Friday night and 2-1 last night at Matthews.

NU (21 pts) is currently 3 points out first place behind BC and UMass (24 pts), 2 pts behind BU and 1 behind UMass-Lowell and Maine.

But it will be a haul the rest of the way, as Tyler Madden is reportedly missing 4-6 weeks with a broken finger. He took a shot to it in the final minute Friday.

NU has a big home-and-home vs. #5 BC starting Thursday night at Matthews on NESN. Amazingly, this is the first time playing BC this season.

Friday win ...

Saturday win ...

Madigan, Pantano Saturday presser ...

#16 NU is back on the ice for a home-and-home this weekend against UMass-Lowell.

Friday night's game at Matthews Arena is on NESN
Saturday night's game at Lowell is on College Sports Live (online)

Here's Madigan's preview of the weekend...

After playing one of the worst games NU has played in a long while in Friday's 4-1 home loss to UMass-Lowell... NU bounced back big time Saturday to shutout Lowell 4-0 to split the weekend.

Friday's highlights...

Saturday's highlights...

#17 NU visits #20 UMass-Lowell tonight in a key HE matchup. This is NU's only game of the weekend.

Coach Keefe previews the game...

Good day to be a NU sports fan! MBB on ESPN+ @ 1:00......WBB@ 5:30 on ESPN+ (they have some really good newcomers)...and MHY@ on NESN+ @7:30.
I forgot to add the game is on NESN+. Thanks.

Good night indeed.
NU lost to Lowell 2-1 in OT.

NU allowed a lot of shots on goal and played in their end a ton. I think playing 4 games in 8 days, plus missing 3 forwards caught up to them.

The Huskies have a home-and-home vs. BU next weekend.

Coach Keefe postgame...

Tough one. Didn't watch the last 10 minutes and overtime, but even though we were winning at the time it didn't seem like we had energy.
