But Maryland was probably the first where someone -- the mother of Carlos Boozer, who is now on ACCN -- was struck by a water bottle hard enough to require emergency medical treatment. Happened in 2001 and we're fortunate more weren't injured. It was an extremely ugly, dangerous scene. Afterwards, the University of Maryland treated it as no big deal. One of the many reasons Duke won't be scheduling Maryland in basketball or any other sport.

I remember that incident. Total BS the way Merryland handled it. Have any ACC scheduled Maryland?

I forgot about that. The Terp fans were also throwing batteries. Some incredible brawls happened on the court in the ACC in the late 1950s and early 1960s but off the court there’s nothing that’s ever happened in the ACC like what happened when Duke visited College Park in the last few years before the Terps left the conference.

Trust me, if the Terps ever want to get back in the ACC, don’t say no, say Hell NO!

I went to the NCSU vs WVU game this past Sept and had no issues. In fact, the Eeers were downright hospitable.

My guess is GT fans were smart enough to drink the whiskey first. WV fans???
