Too bad Mike isn’t still at Texas Southern. It’s worth the admission just to see the pep bands. Would like to see how much profit UAB gets from this.
The AHSAA is trying to keep the state tournament in BHAM next year also and Bartow is the front runner to hold it there. They were at the LaTech game checking out what we offer logistically.
The only draw back from what I am hearing is if 2 BHAM city schools play each other or 2 BHAM area schools. I think the last BHAM city school game at the BJCC there were 15k+ at the game.

Need to improve concessions too.

That would be good for our recruiting.
So I was wondering how they hold a basketball tournament in two days. I found that the semifinal and championship games are here, early round games are played on campuses of higher seeded team. That's an interesting concept.

I would rather they tarped off half of the football practice facility and put courts on either side.

The SWAC switched to that model a few years back. SWAC basketball isn't big at all. More fans are focused on football recruiting, spring practice, and other things related to football during SWAC Basketball season.
Dont think they bring pep bands either.

A number of conferences do that in several sports to save their members some money.
I think the Sun Belt may have even tried this.
