Like to give a shout out to Mr. Carver. In addition to being a team captain, he has been a terror on the glass this year.

Seems every time I look at the box score I’m seeing some outstanding rebounding totals from Carver. Last night it was 14. 15 recently and I remember two games this year with 20. Yes 20, that’s just outstanding!

Aaron is now averaging 10.2 for the season. I went and looked online to see where he might stack up against former Monarch's. Some interesting stats came up. Wish the list I found went into more detail, it stopped at top two, but anyway.

All time rebound avg per game——
Randy Leddy 18.1 (1966)
Wilson Washington 12.5 (1977)

Highest total in a game
33, Ron Drews
23, Mark West and Cliff Jones
This is a great thread idea. I also understand he is leaving ODU with 2 degrees. I always appreciate the ones that do the dirty work.
Without looking at stats I’d say he’s been finishing around the basket a lot better this year than in the past as well
I really like this. As a son of Hall of Famer AC Carver, he probably had too much expectation put on him. Team Capt, All Conf Honor Roll, while majoring in Civil Engineering and Engineering Management. Just a great young man, who anyone would want on their team, both on and off the court.
Props to Aaron Carver. What an awesome young man. He’s an Animal out there on the court.
Wholly agree, on all points.

Great thread, for a very deserving player and person.
Such an impressive young man with a bright future. His character and toughness are going to serve he and his family well after basketball. I loved watching one of the best games of his career last night.
Awesome young man and very happy for him. I hope he doesnt read this board after many on here trashed him for 3 years.

I was critical of Carver early on. The missed bunnies were very frustrating and he had stone hands at times. But he has progressed nicely. He’s found his niche in rebounding and dunks, and now he is making those bunnies. I have always been impressed with his work ethic and effort. The game just seems a little easier for him now which is probably due to experience.
I was definitely one of the ones that said he should get reduced minutes. This year, he has turned himself into a hell of a basketball player. We will miss him next year. I went from thinking he wasn't very good to him and Jason Wade being my two favorites to watch this year.

No issues being critical of his play. Some of the posters got very personal. Glad he has showed them up his senior year
10.2 rebounds per game anywhere in D1 basketball is just outstanding. I see games listed with Carver having 20 (twice),17,16,15,14,13. That's just flat great. Props to him.
He must get a standing ovation senior night.
I see where Carver added another 14 rebound game to his stats. Just really excellent. He is a board monster!
