Teams in our conference who have been since our last appearance - Tulsa, SMU, Cincinnati, Houston, Wichita State, Temple, UCF.

This is absolutely devasting what is happening in Memphis and a complete nightmare.
Yes, so what.

Make a suggestion as to how to change this

Spend the $$ and hire a big name coach who knows what the F they’re doing
My answer it to keep signing the #1 recruit in the nation and hope he plays...

Penny gonna need help signing any more #1 recruits
Give the man some time. It would be hard for anyone to jump from high school straight to head coach at this level. It will take a few years but he will learn.

I didn't see the game (out of town on vacation) but I heard we got beat by the same offense that SMU ran. Spread the floor and pin Alo and Tyler under the goal and post them up...

I suggest finding bigger guards to eliminate this downside. It’s just their height and these veteran coaches see it and literally run the same play over and over..
Today was a painful loss for a young injured team

They missed early open threes, missed free throws and rebounded horribly, albeit it was going to be tougher

Losing this game, regardless of the circumstances hurts

And as it turns out, basically not having Wiseman for the year, losing DJ again, not having Dandridge, playing with a clearly hampered Precious then losing him and Thomas down the stretch really mattered

This is still a good team that lost a game that even with all the issues should have won. And where they needed to go 6-3 they now need to go 6-2, which will be very difficult

We were disappointed as hell. We will not resort to mocking Penny and these kids, we will just hope they can cobble together enough of a team to be competitive in Cincy Thursday but that will be hard. Lance looked really hurt.

If Houston wins regular season/tourney then this should be a 1 bid league. It won't - they'll get a token At Large 11/12 from whomever emerges from the backwash but an irrelevant Conference this year
Damn, a tough and injury filled year and you guys want to fire our favored son?

Very, very tough crowd.

Let's have some perspective. No Wiseman, no experience, and a biblical plague of injuries.

Let's give this some time, shall we?
Wait, did I wake up and it's March 16? WTF?

Penny has 2 more years, otherwise cut the chord. 4 years and not a single NCAA would be enough evidence to suggest he can't make it. I am pretty confident he can do it, but he'll be halfway through his 4-year 'test run' at the end of this season.

We are young, no doubt. BUT, uninspired play like yesterday is going to generate some doubts, for sure.

Yes, I know Calipari went nowhere in his first 6 years BUT he had proven himself elsewhere....and we were rewarded for our patience.

What no one has acknowledged all year was the schedule was back loaded.

10-28 and 2-5 all time is what they're facing on the road next week.

I was at Barclays on Thanksgiving - since Wiseman turned pro this team is unrecognizable to what was playing NC St.

And the worst part, to those who remember the Legend that was James Bradley - Precious Achiuwa, as Jamie Foxx became Ray Charles - has become James Bradley.

I have not seen the 'fire Penny' posts. Are there more than a couple of them?

Just in this thread and a little on twitter.

I'm frustrated too, but damn, it's not like the team blows.
And Penny is one of our own. He should get a little more rope.
