So far while the execution has been lacking (not surprising) it has been pretty entertaining. Great atmosphere in the stadium, the players are very much into it and some of the "tweaks" are pretty interesting. Plus, I'm really enjoying all the microphones and insider stuff.
They have some good stuff. Kick-off formation is interesting. Listening to the replay official talk to the ref is great.
Be more inclined to watch if they had a Huskie....

That's awesome! Go Huskies!
Tommy Lee Lewis was drafted, but googling him it looks like he was resigned by the Saints a few weeks ago. Hope he makes the roster there again.
I don't think I'll watch, but I do hope one of these 'minor league' football leagues can make it, I think it's needed.

Tyree Jackson, sure seems like a kid that got some bad advice. With QBs, it's so much about getting snaps, and he had so many snaps left to take in college, could have become a much surer thing. But playing here, doesn't mean he's done.
I watched part of the second game yesterday. Interesting to say the least. I think they need to change the name, as the XFL was a huge failure in the early 2000s. What exactly does the "X" stand for? Xtreme? XXX? Xtra football? Seems like a middle schooler picked the name? Perhaps AFA - American Football Association?
Part of the reason the XFL tanked is because its biggest game early on -- NBC primetime on Saturday night -- went dark in the middle of the broadcast. It could never recover from that disaster. That won't happen this time.
I think I would be cool if the XFL or any new league set up their teams by college conferences. A B1G and MAC team in the Midwest. I think a MAC all-star team would be competitive with a B1G all-star team AFTER all their top talent went to the NFL. rivalries would carry over from college. Probably violates some right to work laws, but I’d definitely follow the MAC team closely. Maybe even buy some swag. Ten teams..FCS players can only play for G5 teams.

Gonna have to disagree. If the product on the field was good enough, and not so full of gimmicks, then the league would have been more successful. A technical snafu during a game didn't sink the entire league.

The 2nd half of the XFL schedule will compete directly with the NCAA basketball tournament and then the beginning of the baseball season. Ratings are fine now, but its new and ratings were good for the AFL (or whatever that was called...AAF?) after the first week too and then tanked after. The XFL has enough money behind it to survive the season, but they're going to struggle for ratings in March and we'll see how much ESPN wants to continue to beat the horse when even their own broadcasts (SportsCenter and all the talk shows) will spend about 2 seconds talking about the XFL and will be focused on men's basketball and baseball.

Whatever happened to Joel Bougnou (sp), the RB from Aurora Christian. He was in AAF.
