Yes we can afford AK but not my first choice.
Yes Ingram will make the decision after the season
No the board will not interfere.
No there will be no in season termination. That’s just dumb to suggest.
No matter what the numbers say in budget we have the smallest recruiting budget in CUSA. Get ready to put your money where your mouth is if we want a top program.
Oh and we also need money to finish the practice facility. Get ready to open your wallets.
Basketball will not be the determining factor in conference realignment but it doesn’t need to be an anchor.

If we move on Ingram has to remember it isn’t enough to just win, we need to play an exciting brand of basketball. I’ll leave it at that.

We need this for every sport!
Attalla what happened to the thread about the pillars?
Some of you are failing on the showing up part.
At what point when a new coach is hired do you show up?
He obviously hasn't started winning yet before the first game so would you show up?
If he lost the first game wouldn't that mean that you probably wouldn't show up for the second?
& what if he only wins 16 games the first season? Wouldn't that mean that there would be no reason to show up for the second season?

Honest question, do you think recruiting has been an issue? It appears to me that we’ve done pretty well in that aspect under both Haase and Ehsan. Has took a little time but at least developed into a serviceable coach. So in that regard I feel they’ve both done incredibly well with a small budget.

Completely agree on the brand of basketball. As much as we all dislike Tuscaloosa, the style of ball Oats has them playing is great to watch.
I don't make it a habit to watch other teams.

When Tony Barbee was the coach at Auburn, attendance was sparse. Now, sellouts are routine. Success matters. You may not like it but that's the way it is.
I don’t think recruiting is where it should be. Some of that has to do with the league and some of it due to budget. That said HCRE is recruiting better that expected with what he is up against IMHO. Before some moron puts words in my mouth yet again it Doesn’t mean I am endorsing him for another season. I’m just stating an opinion.

I actually agree that he has recruited pretty well. He hasn't developed players worth a crap once they are here but we have some talent. Not blaming him for Bryant but that was a huge blow when he left. You need a player that can take over a game. Helps hide a lot of coaching flaws.
All coaches have flaws even the greatest.

Well that’s good for you. Most people who enjoy sports watch games no matter who is playing. Different brands of basketball exist and some are much more fun to watch even if losses occur. Playing like the poorest mans version of Virginia basically means we never should have fired Davis, because at least he was pretty good at it.

Without a doubt.

Donnie Marsh coached the defense under Davis

Well duh!

I do believe our current one has just a few more than others don't you? Would we be discussing his hopefully soon to be dismissal otherwise?
Be sure and get ready to open your wallet at least as wide as your mouth.

Something tells me that Coach Bartow would like for the program to stay within the rules.
I may be unique but I haven't watched any other college football game for the most part outside of UAB.
Same deal basketball.

Been like this since 2014.

My type exciting brand of basketball is whenever UAB is playing.

Since 2014? Really? Explains why you dont have a clue what really good UAB basketball is all about. Try since 78-79. You are correct about being "unique". You make Attalla look bright. No small accomplishment.

How is this exactly?

Don't know if we currently have any big donors anymore but that's how real programs seek funding. I missed only a handful of games the first 25 or so years of this program and no longer live in the tragic city. However i still attend a game a year and would be thrilled to attend at least 5 games once we get a new staff and better scheduling. So im increasing my contribution 5 times. Lets get everyone on here to pledge to give 5 times what they currently give once we hire the new coach. Of course that means nothing without big time donors but im sure big mouth and his buddies can handle it.
