This week the Monarchs will travel to Texas. First up is the University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners. This Thursday the Roadrunners are promoting a throwback to the '90s. So it's a good enough reason to wear those neon windbreakers, which where pretty popular back then.
The Road Runners are 6-14, 2-7 on the season. They have an RPI ranking of 300 which is dead last in Conference USA. They have a SOS of 180. Three of the team's wins though are against non-division one teams that do not factor in the RPI rankings.

I hate to say this, but the UTEP's final regular season game is a road game against FIU. That game might decides which team finishes dead last in the conference.

UTSA has a very young roster. It has seven freshmen and a redshirt freshman as well. They do have a 6'5" girl, but she has one start on the season and averages 8.9 minutes a game. Beyond that, they are not a tall team. They are dead last in the conference in defensive rebounding, assists per game, and they have taken the fewest three point attempts in the conference. They do have freshman Mikayla Woods though. For the season, she is averaging 15.5 ppg, 5.8 rpg. If you looked at just her conference stats though, she is averaging 18.1 ppg (tied for 2nd place), 6.8 rpg and 3.1 spg. She upped her game considerably. Karrington Donald is also averaging 12.2 ppg slightly higher than her season average of 10.4 ppg. It's not a deep bench either.

If you look at just the Con USA stats, you have a game that features the best defensive team in the conference (ODU- 56.3 ppg) vs the worst defensive team in the conference (UTSA - 76.7 ppg) The numbers all point to an ODU win. Rice is at home against UAB, currently tied for 3rd place in the league. Rice is tough at home, but UAB brings a lot of firepower. Feb 13th is coming.... Go Monarchs.
