I know on a national scale it makes sense, but I'm glad both Cincy games got more views than the Ole Piss game.
So a Memphis game got the 2nd highest overall (only 2nd to the Army-Navy game)...
And Memphis was in the top 3 conference games.
Nice.
One idea that I always thought was a great idea going back in basketball, was to schedule a non conference game against Louisville and Cincinnati in years we weren't in the same division. That way you guarantee a home and home against a rival every year, and add another strong opponent.
In football, I would have loved to see us schedule Cincinnati and UCF in years we don't play them. Oddly enough, it doesn't really apply to next year because we don't play ECU and will play everyone that will be good.

We are biased, but it makes sense to think that the AAC games are a very good measuring stick, because (obviously) we aren't dependent on anyone outside the conference to get those ratings.
How does a 2-3 compare with ACC or PAC? How do we get the number up if it doesn't look competitive?
To really put it into perspective. Boise has 4 games of 1 million plus, but if the standard was 1.5 million, they would drop to 1. If you went with regular season games of 1.5 million, zero.
Memphis, with that same standard, would still have 4. Even using only non-P5 games, we would still have 3 and all 3 over 2.5 million!!

Very true. Also, sorry for being repetitive, but Boise coming would be the same as signing an ace pitcher in free agency. You not only sign the ace pitcher, but your 4th starter becomes your 5th starter and your 5th starter becomes a middle reliever.
It isn't just that you get a quality program, but you relegate the lower tier of our conference to ESPNU, ESPN News and ESPN3. So you are right about Boise's numbers, but considering that all of their games are at night against very uninteresting opponents, they have drawn quite well.
Here are ratings for the same week.
12PM ESPN2 Memphis-Temple 232k/10PM ESPN2 Hawaii-Boise 555k
7PM ESPN2 Tulane-Memphis 192k/10PM ESPN2 Boise-BYU 571k
The P5 conferences ensure that even the lesser schools get some exposure on the major networks as well as ESPN and ESPN2. It isn't like that with the Big12, PAC12 and AAC. In those 3 conferences, exposure is very limited for the bottom feeders. In the AAC it is because of interesting content, for the Big12 and PAC12 it is because a lot of the games are relegated to FS1/FS2, where they get poor ratings.
The two main points are that Boise will get very good ratings against good AAC opponents at noon, 3:30pm and 7pm, and they will completely wipe schools like Tulsa, ECU, Temple and Tulane off of the AAC TV map. Boise will do its part to elevate the conference by ensuring that virtually all of our network, ESPN and ESPN2 games feature interesting matchups between the best schools.
We had some huge games this year. I was at all of those 5 games, and all were a blast.
Tiger football has come a looooooooooooooooooooooooooong way

That is SO true!!! While there have been some great seasons, nothing compares to this run and we still have room to go even higher!

Don't mean to rain on your parade, only one step they will allow us to take. Win the NY6 bowl game is our LIMIT, unless we are a part of the next realignment. IJS

We can't be ranked higher than #17 to end a season?
