Yeah I have a job jack. A damn good one at that. Keep taking your subtle jabs. You sir are a joke.

Not all millennials suck farts from Bernie Sanders.

Try again. NEXT.

Apparently, my subtle jab hit a nerve. It’s easy to put you on tilt. Guessing you kicked your dog after that post.

Nah just shows how clueless you are and I want you to know it. Guessed wrong again. Grabbin for straws cause you aint got schit else to say lol.

ODUDJ96. What does your name stand for anyways? Did you use to sling tracks at the old Cheechos? You seem like one of those types that likes to puff out your chest and be the man lmao.

Way off the radar here, but I have always wanted to ask. Is Chicho's pizza any good? I have heard that it is incredible.

Incredible, no. It's pretty good with a beer though.

They just opened one in Downtown Norfolk on Granby where Jewish Mother used to be.

Ok thank you. I lived up north for 7 years, so I have pretty high standards when it comes to evaluating pizza. I am not even going try it. Going to stick with Andiamo.

You'd also have to be clueless about basketball to watch this year's team play and describe them as "garbage." Our top six players consist of two Juniors and four Sophomores...and the four sophomores might prove to be our top four players by the end of the season. They have four one-possession losses. They've also only had three games where they were clearly overmatched.

This year's team was always going to need time to gel. If you can't appreciate their fight this year, you don't have any right to enjoy their inevitable success later this season or the next two years.
I don’t accept the premise that every 4 years we start over after a good year and frankly I doubt that Broderick or Selig accept it either. This swoon is a result of the several players who bolted over the Summer and Goodwin and Dinkens leaving (who were supposed to step up and make up for departing players). This is a reoccurring theme with Jones. He is a weak recruiter and a terrible judge of who will excel in his system.
We were plenty bad before Wade went down and plenty bad before Godwin and Dickens left... like 3-9 bad. Let's not set these events up as an excuse for JJ, Lil' Woody and the direction of the program.

We've actually been much better since Dickens and Godwin moved on.

Think I'll start a pizza thread. Never heard of Andiamos is it southside?

Yeah, it's in Great Bridge.
Delvechios is very good pizza. I also like Cogans, and University Pizza isn't terrible. If Regino's is still open (was an institution at Wards Corner forever, before moving up Little Creek near the Amphib Base), they always had fantastic pizza. But Delvechios is the best around the west Norfolk area IMO.

Its not the best pizza around but the spicy sauce is a little bit different. Its a good pizza if you aren't going in expecting the world.

Nothing says being the man like slinging pizza at cheechos

Love the spicy sauce....and standing on Atlantic Ave at 2:30 AM with a couple of slices was heaven!!!! Especially after too many $1.50 shot and draft specials.
Figured I would make it official, since this is likely the most important thing we will talk about this week.
For me the best pizza has to be baked in a real wood burning oven on a slab. Love the slightly burnt taste.

OK, gotta do it. Did you hear about the Guru who orders a pizza and said "make me one with everything"?

So true....but somehow I think it will get derailed and snarky as usual
I used to bartend at this place on 21st Street and Omohundro called Cafe Rosso that had a wood burning pizza oven. They made a Lamb Sausage and Goat Cheese Pizza with roasted red peppers that was to die for.
See, I think Del Vecc's makes the best pizza for the value. I don't think it's the best pizza in the area, but it is the best pizza per dollar that you can buy.

I will say, anyone have Benny Damatos in downtown norfolk? I like their pizza, and bringing one of their 28" pizza's is always a fun surprise for parties/groups/whatnot.

Rimshot
Now this is a thread I can get behind. My personal power rankings:

1. YNot- grew up with it so it's my comfort food, downside is they've gotten more expensive as they've grown. Recommendation: 18" cheese or pepperoni and a side of garlic knots.

2. Cogans - Haven't had it in a while since I always opt for Ynot, but it used to be a solid go-to. I recommend getting one of the specialty pizzas with spicy sauce.

3. Baker's Crust - pretty underrated, but expensive. Thin crust style pizza. Wood oven which is cool. I think I usually get BBQ Chicken pizza there.

4. Pungo Pizza - became a Ynot replacement during my time in Redmill area. Solid.

5. Windy City Pizza - good deep dish if you like Chicago style, but it's pretty expensive for what you get.

---tier 0---

6. Red Dog - only on Sunday's when you are 6 beers in

7. Your Pie - not very good, but nice to get your own personal pie just the way you want it if you are in a group of people who cannot agree on stuff.

Honorable Mention

The Bakehouse at Chelsea - I never had it so that's why I cannot rank it, but I've had a bite of someone else's and it's quite good.

Del Vec's - haven't had it since I was in college when $5 would get you like 24" of pie. Maybe I'm exaggerating.
Forgot about Y-Not. Yes, they are also pretty good. I agree with the Windy City suggestion as well, and also agree that they are way too expensive. It is very good though.

Id probably rate the ones near campus as:

Delvecchios
Y Not (is that still open?)
Cogans
Felinis
U-Pie

Away from campus: Reginos (if still open) and Reginellas (near Town Center). Y Not and Windy City are great options too.
Originally from NJ, my pizza standards are high. Don't live in the Norfolk area but I did enjoy the 4400 Club pizza while at ODU.
(01-29-2020 11:19 AM)monarx Wrote: [ -> ]Y Not (is that still open?)

YNot Ghent is still open. But the one on campus didn't last long.
If I'm downtown, I'm getting Benny's. Chichos will do if we're hanging out there, as they do have a decent bar setup. If I'm in watching sports, I'm getting Cogans. If I'm ordering late night, it's DelVeccs.

I honestly have a hard time ordering pizza from Fellinis since they have such great pasta.
