Just to talk about something, anything, other than basketball coaches.

Any word on likely signees for next weeks signing day? There were a lot of visitors recently but most seemed to be 2021.

Were there any that are potential 2020 class?

Any potential transfers? I would still love to see a high quality grad transfer Okineman or WR or safety show up. Maybe even a QB with good wheels as a second or third option.

Are we still looking like a solid commitment for the big tackle, Telfort, who was formerly a Gator? If he prepares and plays to expectations, he could be the key link that completes the chain to power a very dangerous UAB offense next year.
How many spots do we have left? Its been quiet on the recruiting front, but I think that's by design.
I wouldn't expect a lot of open mentions of recruits before the next signing period.

With the way things have been going we probably want to keep it quiet.

Yes, the last group that was in was a junior camp and would be next year's recruits.

I would guess we could squeeze in 4 or 5 new signees if they were good.

I agree - Telfort was a huge signing IMO. hope he maakes it to campus and is on the final roster, etc, etc.
Three commits at the moment.
When does late period signing in football begin?
I think feb 6th or first Wednesday in February.
Oops it’s the 5th

Three commits

OL Brady Wilson Spanish Fort
CB Decarrion McWilliams Younger brother of Fish
OL Kadeem Telfort JuCo
Last 2020 offer I’ve seen of late came the past couple of days we offered another JuCo OT doubt we get him.
Do you believe we have a sufficient number of QB's and WR's on the roster now?

Do you?

Nope.

No
Parham is gone and all we return that is proven is Watkins and Mitchell. Neither with break away speed. QB needs a Juco guy in the mix.
I gotta find the link again but SR Rob Johnson gives us a two deep this spring, hard finding his latest film.
With the division of signing day between early and traditional days, has anything been said about a Signing Day Reception like we had in the past on 2/5/20 where the coaches talk about the newly signed players?

Haven’t seen anything like this through social media.
Last year I believe we had more signees in February than we will have this time.
Because of that I would guess that there won't be a social.

Since we have a total number of new signees by 2/5/20 -- from early, JUCO, transfer and 2/5/20 itself, I am hopeful we will have some kind of recognition activity at the usual place. If nothing else, it will give our AL.com writers something to write about.
Any news?
Nothing new yet. I expect they sign a few surprise additions next week. I also anticipate a grad transfer or two, maybe one on the offensive line, during the late period. Maybe a WR also.

Or we move a defensive back to WR this spring. Xavier Lanier is a possibility. Fast. Someone else was thinking Werlean Pollock to WR. I could see that.

But it would be even better to sign two fast WRs, one from HS to decelop and one from JUCO to make the rotation.
