http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=277396 will have statistics. The surprise is that Smith is starting over Walters.
Franklin, who averages 3.8, scored 8 before Roland, who averages 23.3, scored. You were tied at 21, but Roland got going after the under 8 timeout, and you lead 39-25. Roland has 12 of your last 18 points, while Franklin still has 8, and so does Boursiquot. Walker has 5, and Brace hasn't scored and has only 1 rebound. Ryan Allen leads Delaware with 6. Justyn Mutts, who scored 30 at Hofstra, has 2 with 1:52 left in the half.
I don'see Walters on the bench. Was he mentioned in the pre game discussion?

PS. I love the way we're playing defense!
You had deja vu from last Saturday. Last Saturday you led 57-41 with 9:58 left. Today you led by the same margin at 58-42 with 11:51 left. You lost both games 76-74. Walker got called for a shooting foul on Darling with 1:27 left. Darling got away with elbowing Walker in the mouth. The call stood after a long review. A replay couldn't have taken the foul away from Walker, but could have added a flagrant on Darling to give both teams free throws. Down 74-73 with 27 seconds left, Roland missed a three. You fouled Kevin Anderson, who missed two free throws with 22 seconds left. Jacob Cushing, who made the winning three with Delaware last Saturday, stole the ball from Walker with 4 seconds left and called timeout. Darling made 2 free throws. Delaware fouled Walker with 1.3 seconds left so he couldn't attempt a three. He made the first, intentionally missed the second, and Dylan Painter got the rebound to seal the game. You tried fouling Painter, and after a review it was determined that you didn't foul in time, but it wouldn't have helped if Delaware shot free throws and you got the ball on the opposite end of the court without enough time for a catch-and-shoot.

Roland led you with 27. Boursiquot scored a career-high 18 and led you with 6 rebounds. Walker had 11 points and 6 assists, but he shot 4-12 with 4 fouls and 4 turnovers. After scoring 8 without a miss in the first 11:14, Franklin didn't shoot again. Brace had 2 points, which were free throws, and 3 rebounds. Smith didn't shoot in 21 minutes, and his only positive contributions were 1 rebound and 1 steal. Walker, Roland, and Boursiquot had 43 of your 55 field goal attempts (78.2 percent), and 12 of your 15 free throw attempts (80 percent). You shot free throws 13-15 (.867). 15 attempts is fewer than average, but above your average. You're not taking as much advantage of your free throw percentage because you entered averaging 13.8 attempts, which was the 12th fewest of 353 teams. I have no way of finding out the record for fewest missed free throws per game, but your combinations of great shooting with few attempts is extreme. You miss only 2.7 per game.

Delaware was led by the guards. Darling scored 34, Ryan Allen scored 12, and Anderson scored 12. Forwards Justyn Mutts (6 points), Dylan Painter (4 points), and Collin Goss (no shots in 10 minutes) combined for only 10.
5-4 in conference play. Sure maybe 7th place right now, but it's a wide open conference. +69 point differential in conference play, all 4 losses by 2 points. There's still an argument to be made that we have the highest ceiling in the league. I'm waiting for the tournament at this point and hoping our team can learn a few things down the stretch.
And whatever we technically are in with tiebreakers doesnt matter right now. Get top 6 for March. +69 is by far the best differential in the league. Anyone can beat anyone. Shake this one off.

STL.......I LOVE your optimism!
Hey we lost a buzzer beater game vs W&M. We win that one and we are in 1st place right now. Thin margins all around.
That is true...and I'm trying to be more of an optimistic but part of me still thinks about the terrible hand that Coen was dealt. Every team graduates players but we had two extra unexpected departures. I can't help but wonder how many of those four two point losses we would have won if Occeus and Gresham were in our top eight....and how will the playoffs go without them.

We've been snakebit in many ways.

This team has never gotten on any kind of roll, and may never this season -- which is a problem.

Walker made some freshman mistakes down the stretch vs UD. But that's part of the process.

4 losses by 2 points or less in league play, with 3 of them at home is a gut-puncher for sure.

I plan to go to D.C. for the tourney, but mentally I'm prepared for a quick trip.

I still think we have a small core that know how to win once we get down there.

Walters had a stomach bug per Coen in his presser. So he was unavailable, which hurt our perimeter defense, especially against Darling.
What a crazy year in this league. Look at the results today even. My concern with NU is when games are close, where does the scoring come from. Roland seemed to force quite a bit today even when Max had a hot hand. It is going to be tough for him in the last 5 minutes of games with everyone in the arena ready for him. That is where we need Walker or Brace. Problem is Walker is a freshman and Brace is too hot and cold. He will be great one game and then disappear the next. I agree this will be a crap shoot when we get to DC. I just worry our margin for error is paper thin and our late game execution will be harder than most
NU's last road trip before the tourney take them to Delaware Thursday and Drexel on Saturday.

NU lost to UD at Matthews by 2 points. With a 7-7 record in league play, NU needs to win at least one of these games to keep within striking distance of Towson and CofC (2 teams would have and have tie-breakers over) for a bye.

An NU sweep and they're really back in the hunt for a bye.

NU got hammered at UD 70-48.

NU was down 24-4 to start the game and it was over after that.

NU visits Drexel on Saturday.
