Starting a seperate thread for bracketology...

From Bracketville- #1 bracketologist- what I feel would be an incredible thing for the league- by seed list
Seton Hall 6
Villanova 11
Creighton 18
Butler 19
Marquette 22
DePaul 40(3rd team with bye)

Xavier 69
Georgetown 71
St John's 85
Providence 96

So 2,3,5,5,6,10 seeds. I would say this would be the best situation the league has ever been in.

I'd take that, for sure.

Bracketmatrix works out to 3,3,4,7,8,12 with Georgetown as first four and Xavier next four.

I get the concept of Bracketmatrix, but having things in there for a week really limit it right now IMO. When we get closer yeah makes it a lot better.
DePaul with really a must-win tomorrow against St. John's. It would be a wonderful accomplishment if DePaul were to make the tournament this year. I just wonder if they have the horses to keep up.

I agree with you. Right now, since only about half the brackets are updated to within the past couple days, I like to use it as a hedge against any one particular bracket prediction. So while it is slow to react to big wins/losses, it's also won't show over reactions either because more games will have played out for other brackets. So it shows trends better than making big leaps up or down.

Then as we get towards the very end of the season it becomes just about the most reliable place to look.
I'd say for Bracketville, DePaul feels a smidge high. but I think what is saving them right now is the 4 road wins.

Tomorrow is their biggest game probably in 15 years. Win and they are 14-6 and in really good shape. lose and 13-7 and need to go 6-5 rest of the way with only 4 home games left.

Perfectly said, S20. It is a monster game for the Blue Demons.

Impressive predicted seedings from BVille.

As noted, seven BE teams would be stellar. But you take six any day. Six of 10 is outstanding.

And HUGE game for Butler tonight hosting Marquette. The Bulldogs have lost three straight. Four could be disastrous. MU is playing well.
Seed list from Bracketville
Seton Hall 5
Villanova 6
Butler 16
Creighton 19
Marquette 25

St John's 71
DePaul 72
Georgetown 73

St. John's and DePaul in Last Four Out.

BVille has seven SEC teams? Insane. Seems only four are deserving at this point.

Got 4 teams with 5 or fewer losses so they're in. Florida kind of makes sense.. Miss St and Alabama last 2 teams in right now.

What will be interesting to see is all of the remaining games within the bottom-5 remaining in BE play, and see if any of the five and separate from the pack secure that 6th bid.

Georgetown @ St. John's
Providence @ St. John's
Xavier @ St. John's
DePaul @ Georgetown
Providence @ Georgetown
Georgetown @ DePaul
Xavier @ Georgetown
Xavier @ DePaul
Providence @ Xavier
DePaul @ Xavier
Xavier @ Providence

Xavier and Georgetown have the most opportunities remaining to pick up bottom-5 wins.
The problem is-
St John's- 3- needs 5 wins to get to 18
Georgetown 5- needs 6 wins to get to 18
Xavier 5- needs 5 wins to get to 18
DePaul 3- needs 6 wins to get to 18 d1
Providence 4- needs 7 wins to get to 18

the best shot would be Xavier obviously. However, not sure them at 18 gets in. They would have wins vs Cincy, @ TCU, St John's 2, Georgetown 2, DePaul 2, Providence 2. Not exactly great wins.

And if they all beat up each other, then it becomes moot anyway.

I'm just saying with the remaining games within this tier, each team has the opportunity to grab wins within this tier (and hope to steal one or two against the top-5). The other thing is that with the BET, each team will have one more opportunity to get another win, possibly two, as well.

With what the seeds are expected to be, I'd be totally fine with the five getting in. The probability and likelihood of having several teams play into the second weekend would be the highest its been, IMO.

yeah, the worst case right now would be only 5 get in, and Marquette takes a couple of bad losses dumping them to the 8-9 line(Creighton too with where they are).... But having 2 2's and a 4 would be really good. Really good shot if SH or Nova only lose 1-2 more games that they get a 1 seed in NYC.
I think there is solid chance one of the "bottom five" gets hot and makes the tourney, giving the BE six.

But five would be very respectable (if not actually strong), as everybody on this board seems to agree.

It's going to take at least 1 if not 2 upsets of the top 5 teams by a team to get 6 in. And thats with dominating the other bottom 5 teams- something that I don't think is really realistic.
Bracketville seed list from today-
Villanova 8
Seton Hall 9
Creighton 15
Butler 18
Marquette 24
Xavier 45(last team in)

Georgetown 70(2nd team out)
St John's 81
DePaul 82
This is getting VERY interesting. I don't foresee seven but it could happen. Six remains the goal.

Enjoy your day, lads.

The way things are shaping up, if Xavier gets 5 wins out of their reaming SJ, DU, and Prov and Georgetown wins their reaminging against DePaul, Xavier, and Prov and one other... they could both make it without hurting anyone else much.
