Quote:The father of a college student was seen confronting Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren about her plan to cancel student loan debt in a video that went viral earlier this week.

The dad chastised Warren over her plan, and got especially heated after the senator and 2020 presidential candidate told him he could not get the money back that he saved to pay for his daughter’s school.

“My daughter is in school. I saved all my money. Am I gonna get my money back?” the dad asked.

“Of course not,” Warren replied.

“So you’re gonna pay for people who didn’t save any money, but those of us who did the right thing get screwed?” the man asked.

The man mentioned that he worked a “double shift” to pay for his daughter’s education, and accused Warren of mocking his life story.

You’re laughing at me!” the man said.

Warren denied that she was laughing, but the dad was not buying her explanation.

“That’s exactly what you’re doing!” he said. “We did the right thing and we get screwed!”

Warren unveiled a $640 billion plan last year to eliminate student loan debt, a plan that would be funded by a tax on the ultra wealthy.

He makes a great point. If you do things the right and honest way, you get screwed. Same with those that immigrate into the country legally. They do things the right way and get screwed.

If she or any other democrat get into office, they'll make you pay for everyone else's "free" education too.
Love it. These socialists Dems have no idea of the nightmare coming their way when they face people that work for their living and don't want the Government to support them. Warren is a lying scumbag. Had the audacity to say you can't trust leaders that will lie to you. Coming from a lady that lied about being an Indian squaw for decades.
Socialism does not reward hard work or achievement... this is just yet another of countless examples.
I was curious if those that elect not to go to college will receive cash in lieu of free college.

But that's the standard M.O. of practically all democratic policy.

Immigration: illegals get a pass while legals jump through hoops.

Health Care: People without insurance get coverage while those who had coverage get hosed, either by less coverage, higher costs, or (in my case and many others) both.

Why would this be any different?

When irresponsibility is rewarded the unintended consequence is for those who were responsible to start behaving irresponsibly.

Hawaii Ending Universal Child Health Care After 7 Mos.

Quote:A state official said families were dropping private coverage so their children would be eligible for the subsidized plan.

"People who were already able to afford health care began to stop paying for it so they could get it for free," said Dr. Kenny Fink, the administrator for Med-QUEST at the Department of Human Services. "I don't believe that was the intent of the program."

Really? You never once thought that people would choose to get for "free" for what they used to pay for?

If I have to pay $$$ for my child's health care and then you force me to pay additional $$$ so other people can get child health care for free, whey wouldn't I make a prudent financial decision to stop pay twice for child health care and pay only once?
I hope he was this outraged for all the other tax cuts or govt bailouts that have taken place over the years.

Tax cuts? Why? That's the goal.

Bailouts? Like the car industry? Heck yeah he should have been ticked off. A lot of us were.
Did she say back to him "Okay, Boomer"?
The democrat party has to promise free stuff. They have no viable ideas for government. They are leaning more and more socialist and are actually being open about it as well as finally opening up about coming after the 2nd amendment. They do not favor American exceptionalism but seem to want to take us down a path that has repeatedly been shown to be a failure. They have to promise freebies. Otherwise who in their right mind would vote for them.
She has no interest in those that actually did it the right way. I have a feeling she already knows most of those people won't be voting for her anyway. This whole "pay off student debt" stuff is nothing more than a vote buying ploy.

You nailed it. Good post.

The youngin's are not yet smart enough to know that these promises are flat out lies. So they will swallow this stuff- hook line and sinker. I get my student loans paid off???? HOLY F - where do I vote yes for that!!!!!

Once you own something like a house or a car you will learn real fast that anything that sounds too good to be true - IS too good to be true.

I have the same gripe when people start proposing means testing social security.

I agree. Warren is targeting a group that rarely votes. I don't blame her even though folks that have been around know it's fools gold. What she isn't telling them is that more than likely the IRS will more than likely treat any forgiven debt as income.

You clowns always bring up tax cuts as though the money belongs to the government.

Good point. It really points out their perspective that they think the money we earn belongs to the govt, not us. Goes for business also. That makes absolutley no sense to me.

If I were to force you to give me the money out of you wallet at gunpoint or knifepoint I would be arrested.

If the tax man forces you to give him the money out of your wallet by threatening to throw YOU in jail, it's all good.

I don't have the right to take your money, but if we get together and vote for me, then I magically have the right to take your money.
Now do Medicare. Seniors worked and paid taxes for 40+ years so they have health care at 65.

The dem socialists now want to put everyone in the country (and theoretically everyone in the world if they can get here) on the same program. Those seniors are going to have their money STOLEN from them there as well, when calls for cuts inevitably come because the math obviously doesn’t add up.

Hell some of the wackos want to give free health insurance to illegals also.
